just watched this very opera performed 'live' in Singapore; it was worth every dollar (and MORE) of the price of admission. Stupendous production, what a refreshing approach to this traditional art form; the old immersed into the new; now and then a familiar tune will sneak up on the audience. And new choreography, stagecraft, music score, never a dull moment. The 广东粤剧院 Opera Co has a winner here; the audience gave a 5 mins standing ovation at the close. 曾小敏 老師 was tremendous as White Snake.
