For them, a day isn't complete without a drink. Joy, anger, sorrow and pleasure are what lies for them in bottles of alcohol.
From drinking capacities of 4 bottles to 34, I Am a Man introduces you to a group of men and women who can't get enough when it comes to alcohol.
Joining the main hosts today are Lim Changung, the original artist of the song, A Glass of Soju. Choi Yeojin who doesn't seem like an alcohol lover,
and Kim Jedong, an I Am a Man regular guest whose life is consumed with alcohol.

As a person who never drinks I have a hard time understanding why it's considered normal to be an alcoholic in Korea. Makes one really wonder about their health problems and daily lives. - But ameo this was so hilarious! Specially the Santa part

its just that in korean culture, if you are able to drink then you are going to be respected something like that. and companies usually drink after work and you have to go because their bosses tell them to

shalom1948hellyeah I agree with some of what you said but I am trying to think of the so called 4 powers that invaded South Korea. I know China aka Manchuria has, Japan has twice and the North and Russia together, but who is the fourth?? I am just wondering so please don't try to be combative. I love history even if it is not my own nations history, it is just something that I am very fond of. And so far, out side of Japan and China's history which I learned of Japan's first in the Asian world, I would like to know more.

I wouldn't be surprised if health had something to do with it. In the past, drinking water wasn't purified so drinking any old water was risky. But it was discovered that when alchohol is brewed or distilled, like beer, makgeolli, and rice wine, it kills a lot of the bacteria in the liquid. So making a weak alcohol actually gave you cleaner drinkable liquid. Over the years, the alcohol content just got stronger and stronger. Even in China it's pretty crazy, if you can afford it. What's worse is that the many east Asians have trouble processing alcohol of that strength, hence the whole red face thing.

i think the show is getting better, the chemistry between the hosts is building, and the edition of kim jedong and his dynamic with yu jaesuk has been a welcome surprise. its a shame this show is coming to an end. hopefully they change the format a bit and release a second season soon with the original cast.

I think the show is better this way. I know it's suppose to be with just guys, but most of the stories came from the girls. And if kim jae dong can stay on as a host that would be awesome. The chemistry between him and yoo jae suk is so great! This is one of my most favorite episodes, easily.

thank you kbs ^^ if really this show will be going for 2nd season, then kim jedong will be fit the best. jaesuk and myungsoo is on another level of "bickering" couple but jaesuk jedong together is not bad tho like they did on happy together :D like when changjung said "the real perverts are not talk too much" then jedong point out to jaesuk, this kind of joke XD

I drink occasionally! To drink & release some stress is always a good thing. Just do it responsibly & Never drive drunk. Drink if it makes you Happy but don't drink IF it creates more chaos in your life. Black Out aren't healthy so be careful not to get alcohol poisoning. I love this show! Can't wait for season 2.

I am Saying that for the last time BUT This show is not renewed and there are Only 20 episodes so guys don't even dream about a second season! I Know I am also angry about that but KBS doesn't care because they think the ratings (I don't even Know if that's the good Word, sorry I am french) are not high enough!

***** It's an article I've read on Dec 12 so it's obviously not the article you are talking about. It says that Brave Family, a new show, will be the follow up to I am a Man and that staff are considering to do a season 2 after reformatting.

They worried about ratings for over half this season when the answer was so simple. invite Kim Jedong on the show. He has kept me dying of laughter for all the episodes he has been on. Hopefully he joins as a permanent cast next season!!!

As someone from a city with a big drinking culture (New Orleans, we have DRIVE THRU Daiquiri stores!!), this episode is pretty sad. Long term effects of alcohol really mess up your body system and the fact that alcohol use during pregnancy and fatal car crashes have increased is something very serious.

it would be a waste if this show stops airing. one of the best talks shows i've ever watched considering the fact that i don't even like talk shows. its just so funny and the MC's are all outgoing and comfortable to talk about anything and everything!

Hmm I don't know how to say this... I like Kim Jedong very much he's a funny guy and a good MC but ever since he joined the show I feel like we see less and less of the original cast. He's stealing so much air time I barely notice Ojung anymore. :/ And Im Wonhui had one job (reading cards) and it was taken away from him. Poor guy. I really miss how the show used to be. The original cast, the MALE audience and their stories, the soulmate game they used to play, ... why didn't they play this in this episode or in the previous ones when they had girls invited? That would have been fun...

In many culture drinking is related to having fun times, but i can't understand why people like it so much.Smoking can give you health problems so does drinking, but why they display like its something for laughs?

i dont mind the women being on the show as they seem to have the more entertaining and extreme stories. but since jedong joined they seem to show us 90% MCs and 10% audience. i would like to see the audience 80% of the time and the MCs 20%.

***** Emily Xaysongkham maybe she didn't wanna drink from the bottle idk.. though who pours the drink onto their hand.. eww xD as for the "pills" I thought they were beans or the bean-like thingy from a bean sprout... since this is an episode about alcohol they probably gave people something like an energy drink or soup or whatever.. and like Jedong said in Korea one of the hangover "medicines" is bean sprout soup.. however even if they were pills I still have an explanation xD I remember a backstage footage of a yg family concert where CL was giving to the stuff and others calcium and vitamin pills.. so maybe they gave them an energy or whatever drink with vitamins or smth.. (imo it seems more likely to be beans and not pills :P)

So last time i commented why is jedong hosting as well? The other mc's talking time are being cut because of him, someone then commented he fits the subject. Okay got that, but he is STILL here.. like why add a mc while others aren't getting enough broadcasting time? I find it unfair

He's my favorite, I don't know why you're not liking the idea of him being a host on the show. He honesty made the show funnier . Him and Ju Jaeseok are hilarious with their arguments and teasing.

On shows like this every host gets a chance to speak equally, but they get edited out if they're not interesting/funny enough. Jedong makes hilarious commentary and whatnot, so it's no wonder that they don't edit him out that much. It's not Jedong's fault tbh. It's not his fault that he's just a naturally funny and charismatic person.

People like that would be consider the alcoholists in my country. I mean I like to drink too but I am not drinking every day. If you need a drink to feel better than there is something wrong and you probably have a problem. I am curious if there something like a term alcoholism in Korea.

This episode is kind of weird for me. They are basically celebrating alcoholism. Drinking as often as these people do is not something to be proud of.

나는 남자다. 즐겨보고 괜찮은 프로라고 생각했는데, 이번 편은 주제가 정말 좀 아니었지 않나 하는 생각이 강하게 든다. 주당이라고 얘기를 하고 그게 무슨 대단한 자랑인것 처럼 떠들어 대는데, 그냥 알콜중독이다. 이것은 병이며 자신뿐만 아니라 한 가정, 사회까지 파멸로 몰아 갈 수 있는 위험한 병이다. 아침에 숙취로 고생하다 해가 질때 쯔음에 몸이 어느정도 회복이 되고 다시 술 생각난다는 것은 이미 몸에서 중독증세가 강하게 일어 나고 있다는 것이고, 술에 의존을 하다보면 우울증 등 다른 신경정신관련 병들에 더 쉽게 노출될 수 있다고 한다. 대한민국의 정치가 개판이고 직장에서의 강한 노동강도와 비인간적인 대우, 그리고 사회 곳곳에 천민자본주의적인 폐해를 보이고 있는 상황에 맨정신에 살아 가기 힘들겠지만, 그것을 술, 마약등 인체에 유해한 중독성 물질에 의존해서는 안된다. KBS라는 공영방송에서 이렇게 어이없는 주제를 가지고 방송을 하는 것이 15세 이상의 청소년기 시청자들에게 알코올 남용에 대해 경각심을 깨우쳐주기는 커녕 오히려 영웅심리를 부추겨서 차후에 이 방송에 나온 사람들처럼 알콜 중독 증상으로 몰 수 있다. 정말 멍청한 방송이 아닐 수 없다.
