8:21 Funny thing is, in the manga, Nanako's arc was a pitoval moment to Souji Seta (manga name of the Yu Narukami). It highlights how he's an empty and lonely person due to constant transfer and lack of family time. He didn't have time to build meaningful relationship and was forced to grow independence, obeying his parent and keep up the politeness, thus become a loner with apathetic view of friendship. But as he spends time with his friends, witnesses and learn from their growth and confront their own hearts, he changes for a better and learn to express himself and his worth. His relationship with Nanako was more than just being a big brother figure to her, but because he saw himself in her, hence he didn't want her to go through the same life he has before transfer to Inaba.

As a newbie to the Persona series and P4G being my first game this year. It helped me as my cat recently died. I thought it was darkness and pain and I couldn't face anything until this game came through and pulled me up. Living in a way to face my shadow and become a person that shadow isn't. Persona 4 is my third favorite game of all time and well is the first game to ever make me cry my eyes out over Nanako, the progression of the story and the true/golden ending. I didn't want to leave Inaba at all, it was a home with memories and friends that we saved a entire town but built bonds. After watching the animation the words: "Bonds of People is The True Power." Making me see the friendships I built give me power because the people I care for stick with me at my darkest points and vice versa for them. P4G is a game I never experienced before especially after playing deep Jpgs/rpgs this year. This closest game I can put with this is Fire Emblem Three houses gameplay wise but Persona 4 Golden beats it in so many categories.

As someone else who lives in up state suburban New York, Inaba feels very familiar in a way of a town with little to do at it's surface until you learn more about it and very different with it's rural setting being not too different but a bit of a switch with my home town having and few but nowhere near as much rural aspects. Really makes for a unique setting. Love Persona 4, my personal favorite of the franchise.

To correct you on some things. Yeah, for some reason, many people think that Rise is the canon love interest, even though evidence as you showed that Yukiko is actually the canon love interest. Yu isn't the only one with this problem, both Persona 3 protagonists also have this sorta canon love interest problem, but it's much more obvious as even the adaptations believe so and really enforces it. For the male protagonist, you did mention in a video that Aigis is the canon love interest and many people think so too and even the 4 Persona 3 movies pushes it, but many parts of the game will tell you that Yukari is actually the canon love interest, as this even plays a part in The Answer. Same thing with the female protagonist where many people like to think Shinjiro is her true love interest and even the female version of the stage plays enforces it, but while I truly do think this pairing is great, many parts in Portable actually hints at Akihiko being the canon love interest instead, much more than the game hints at Shinjiro, and the way that game hints at this is like a mix between Yukari in the male route and Yukiko in this game. Also, the bit about the city Yu is from being Tokyo, that's only in the Persona 4 anime. In the game, they never say which city he's from. All they say is he's from a city, that's it.

i liked the video, though personally i don't see narukami being a self-insert as much of a good thing... i enjoyed his character a lot more in the anime and the manga
