@@TrinityPortalGaming I'm gonna be real with you, this is one of the few franchises I would respect using AI to generate 3D models of monsters, whenever that tech is actually possible and doesn't look awful (like giving dark magician girl 6 fingers or something), just so people don't have to sink the man-hours into creating whatever 10,000 cards translates into animation-wise.

I don't know how old you are but for anyone who is like 28+ you'd realise how even this is a massive step for yu gi oh. The alternative is nothing at all. Alternatively I'd like to ask how does this lead to a mediocre product? The single player on the rails yu gi oh games are some of the best games for the series (the ds games and tag force for example)

I wont lie, I'll play this game to stand next to the Dark Magician Girl. Dark Magician Girl gets killed, "Noooo! My Waifu!" Since it's Duel Links, I'm guessing it's the Speed Duel format instead of the original format.

Unfortunately they didn't say anything officially, as it right now it was just made for 25th anniversary no game no VR nothing confirmed officially. (be aware of sad reality better than having fake hope)

I get that this is just a literal tech demo for what may one day be an actual finished product, but I'm genuinely worried that we're being gaslighted into thinking this is something it isn't. Especially since fans have been asking for smth like this for literal decades

This is all very fun and exciting until you realise they need to model and animate every single card. If this does get public release, I can’t imagine it having more than 1000 cards.

This basically, it's also a lot of wasted resources to spend time making models for monsters that are going to be sent to the graveyard in 2 seconds because monsters are just pieces to get to an end field nowadays, not guys that you try to fight with and protect. Logistically speaking a simplified version of Yugioh is the best route for a VR Duel links

As a fan of both yugioh and vr I am really interested in seeing how this will be once we get to see proper gameplay and not a faked cutscene thing. I also wonder how it will compare to the fan made yugioh vr(dmvr), other than being a graphical upgrade able to be done as they are a massive company, I also hope that with their own vr aspirations they wont force dmvr to shut down their project

Problem is that Konami sucks at making good yugioh games. They dont listen to the fans. There are many features and quality of life fixs that would make these games a dream to play but Konami doesnt care enough. For one id rather buy a yugioh game than play a free to play game. Also i dont buy only online games.

And this is how they slowly gain the attention of everyone for the biblical mark of the beast. Remember that not so long ago they made a VR accessory based on Sword Art Online that would “💀” you if you lose in the game. Intriguing? yes. Would I use this? hell no.
