A bully turned police officer? Not without a serious, and I mean SERIOUS scaring straight.

The timings wrong because if Trudge is 23 when Yusei is 18 that's a 5 year difference. That means that Trudge would be about 5 when the reactor went off so he could never be the person from the original Yugioh.

Trudge is one of my favourite characters. The reason for that is because he has so much character development. When you meet him in the first season, he is this rude, egoistic and racist police officer. But when he starts to spend time with Yusei and the kids, he starts thinking about his morals and becomes way less racist who just wants to impress Mina and help "our heroes" wherever he can.

While he certainly started as an antagonist, I actually think he's one of the best characters in 5Ds. The cards he uses are great, and he has a lot of positive character development.

If Trudge is the same characters, then he shouldn't be 23 years old. He should, at least in his mid to late 30s.

I believe its the same person but I don't think he's 23 because if he's the same person the timeline wouldn't work. I usually assume him to be in his 40's or 50's to match up with the time line. That sounds about right because GX took place 10 years after the original series. So I would assume that 5d's took place 20 to 30 years later.

One other thing, in both versions, Trudge's English va is Dan Green, who was both Yugi Muto and Yami Yugi in the original. In a way, Dan reprised his role of Trudge for 5d's.

it cant be the same character otherwise he cant be 23 because takahashi stated that 5 years passed between yugioh and yugioh gx and then 20 years passed from GX to 5ds so it cant be the same character. unless you just got the age of the character wrong

If they’re are the same character there’s no way Trudge is 23 in 5Ds. He must have been at least 16 or 17 in the original Yugioh given he was a year or two above Yugi. Zero Reverse obviously occurred some point after GX. Cause the original Domino City is still around in GX. In most stated timelines GX is 10 years after the original and takes place over 3 years. Yusei was a newborn when Zero Reverse happened and is around 18 at the beginning of 5Ds. So with basic math the time between Yugioh and Yugioh 5Ds is at least 31 years, and that’s only if Zero Reverse happened a few months after the end of the events of GX, which given how advanced the city scape looked even before the disaster is highly unlikely. If it is still the the same character than human medicine and life expectancy must have really advanced because he looks pretty spry for a guy who’s at youngest is approaching 50.

In season 0 of Yugioh, Truge faced off against Yami Yugi in a Shadow Game. It is a surprise to see him again in 5Ds!

Well, he's been mind crushed in season 0 and he was sent to the shadow realm in GX so I'm pretty sure that might have some effect on his aging. Could be wrong.

Yu-Gi-Oh's school was a High school where Trudge was a student. High school ages are from 13-18. GX takes place 10 or 17 after the original series. 5D's would take place 40 years later at best Trudge would still be alive.

tetsu in original anime is same age as yugi so 15 or 2 years older ..... gx was 10 years after DM .... so 25 - 27 .... in 5Ds he is about 45-47

Yu-Gi-Oh GX: Set ten years after Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters. Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds: Set after GX. However, it's at a bare minimum, 17 years after. Because Ener-D exploded 17 years before the start of the series and GX showed the city intact. So... his age doesn't make any sense. Just saying.

1:16 GX is the one set 10 years after the original series. Discounting flashbacks, 5Ds is set 30 to 35 years after the original series and the Zero Reverse happened a few years after the end of GX.

I had an argument with my gf about Ushio, cause she said it was a different character. I personally thought it was the same person, and it seems to be canonically proven that I'm correct. That also puts YuGiOh and 5Ds in the same universe, which creates some interesting theories

Yu-Gi-Oh > Yugioh Gx = 10-13 years (starts ten years after. One year for Season 1, one for Season 2 and Season 3/4 are the same year.) after > 5D's is unknown. However, given that Domino City wasn't an absolute wreck during GX like it is in 5D's. I'd say that a year (at least.) probably passes between GX and the Ener-D Reactor destruction, which is 17 years before the start of 5D's. Depends on how fast you can design and create an Ener-D reactor. That's assuming that Kaiba Corporation wasn't already working on it during GX.

No way that's the same bully from the original series. Assuming that he's about the same age as Joey and Triston at the time at 16 then that would mean that the beginning of 5D's takes place 7 years after the original series. That would place it 3 years before GX. There's just one problem, Synchro Monsters didn't exist yet in GX.

think about the yu gi oh season 0, duel monsters and 5Ds bcuz it wldn't mean he's 23. bcuz trudge is like the same age as yugi and his friends wld mean in 30 years later he wldve been 50 years old. heck even Dylan 4rom yugioh everything even stated like he's 50 years old. meaning he's 20 years older than yusei which means at the beginning yusei is around 18-19 years old. so if that fan therory is true then he changed alot 4 the better bcuz of dark yugi damn.

I really don’t believe Turbo Dueling has been around for less than 10 years. Nothing in the Anime, at least, suggests that it’s that way. It’s always implied that Turbo dueling has been around longer than the reverse incident, which is when Yusei Fudo was born. So unless Trudge is like 50+, it shouldn’t be the same character, unless reincarnation is involved.

According to official Japanese wiki he is the same person who bullied Yugi and his friends. He is canonically 45-50. His is not 23. These stats are fake and given by an unofficial fan page.
