Yeah there's no extra play extravagance just consistency goes more up than ever

P slicer I’ve been trying to find a way to fit it in. The problem is that it doesn’t do the end phase discard that makes demise so good. Don’t get me wrong, extravagance is great and one of the top cards on a shortlist for my new build. Problem is that it’s just so much worse here in this particular deck and build than demise was

@@vicattt discarding Vennominaga off of demise happens only like 1 out of 50 duels. Demise is a consistent draw-3 in a deck that desperately needs it. I’d say that it’s a fair trade off. I also have transmigration prophecy in here to shuffle it from grave back into deck just in case it gets discarded there or sent off of snake rain.

@@vicattt summoning Vennominaga is why this deck exists in the first place. Remove her from the deck and you have no reason to play this anymore

Thanks a lot! Really appreciate the compliment. And yes, that’s the one issue i was running into as well. Ash and other hand traps just straight up destroy this deck and it’s combos and other spot removal and board wipe is equally as devastating. I’ve tried several options to fix it but none of them worked. Called by the grave was too bricky and I even tried the parshath card that protects face downs, but it doesn’t stop non-target stuff. The problem is that you need to trigger your stuff in a specific order or it doesn’t resolve. It’s why I advocate triggering your stuff to summon snake ASAP so your opponent won’t blow you out. So I designed the deck to simply be the best venom deck I could make. Perhaps this is the zenith of this decj’s capabilities simply because of all the moving parts, but experiment around and see if something works!

Thanks so much for watching! Believe it or not, viper’s rebirth was actually in my first build! For so long I was split between it and Lilith, as I could not run both (though I highly wish I could!) rebirth ended up unfortunately getting the axe due to Lilith providing far more consistency, as well as not conflicting with both demise and duality. My trap lineup is set up do all special summoning on opponent turn so you can activate the power spells on yours. Though if Lilith was somehow a reptile, believe me, vipers rebirth would definitely be in.

I love the reptiliannes and actually have a deck featuring them! It’s a crazy reptilianne fang of critias deck available on the channel. Hoping to make the deck now that echidna is here! For this deck the s/t lineup is extremely important at those exact ratios. Allows you to summon naga every game with decent to Good attack power. Test the deck out as I’ve built it for yourself and let me know what you think! Once you see my explanations, you’ll know why the ratios are as they are. Once you get the hang of it, the reptiles you use don’t really matter. Sub in some nagas and vaskiis and go to town!

I love that you’re taking the deck in a different direction and you obviously have a lot of knowledge about venoms! I actually tried a venom swamp deck before, and had a typical venom deck with all the support cards until I happened upon the card of demise and Lilith combo. That combo was the epiphany that led to crazy testing and eventually this deck. I found that The two halves of the archetype had different win conditions and neither really had synergy with the other. In order to make a consistent venom deck in my opinion, It was important to me to choose which way to specialize; Swamp or naga. I ultimately decided to specialize solely on Vennominaga. That meant not playing all the cool spell and traps available in the deck though I held fast to swamp for as long as I could. I felt and still feel that it was the right decision and it made a stronger end product overall. In a different world, however, I would have made a deck very similar to the one you describe. If you have a sample build or general idea set prepared, I’d love to see it! I’m always down to discuss this great archetype and feel like the swamp aspect is an unexplored part we’ve never really tapped into. I definitely could and can still see myself making another completely different deck around venom swamp and counters. I actually had an idea about running cards that place zero atk tokens on the board then letting them accrue massive numbers of venom counters while the rest of your monsters protect them. Since swamp only destroys monsters who’s atk it changes to 0, having a monster with atk already at 0 allows you to run strong non-venom monsters as Counter “generators” for swamp. Think something like Arcana force - The Fool, with its indestructibility. It could be a perfect counter accruer. With a bunch of protected tokens and low level monsters, as well as several stun traps, you could easily amass a massive board of tokens, then trigger a Venom Burn trap effect to remove all tokens and inflict 700 dmg for each. You just run the level 4 venoms with an evil dragon Ananta, and contrary to widely held and popular belief, you LEAVE THE BIG SNAKES OUT!! That’s right. I said it. People are so concerned with running the big snakes in a regular venom deck that they don’t realize that those cards. Completely kill the synergy of a swamp deck by taking up space and being altogether inconsistent. It’s why I gave them their own deck, and why I believe swamp needs it’s own deck. Specializing in just the swamp or just the naga means making two different styles of venom deck, each of which would be far better than a horrible combination of both strategies that only bring each other down. Though if you can still make a counter-hybrid deck work, I really wanna see it. I actually experimented extensively with a Vennominaga staunch defender build focused on forcing attacks of low level tokens into Vennominaga, but I found it incredibly difficult for my backrow and support cards to last until the battle phase to trigger the combo. It was too dependent on my opponent being bad and falling into it, rather than my own plays setting things up. I never considered Booby Trap E, but it would actually be such a great card for that kind of deck. Thanks for bringing it to my attention again! As for Stand-Off, I think you have the right idea with what to go for, but I would find to be an inferior card due to the fact that your opponent can just synchro or link their monster away to turn off the effect of the card. While it’s great under something like Domain, the fact that it doesn’t restrict summons from the extra deck makes it bad, and require something like a d barrier to be fully usable. Taking that idea, modifying it with booby trap E and one of my personal favorite consistency-Boosting continuous trap cards, Dark Factory of More Production, I think you could have a killer venom deck on your hands. As you said, we’re in this together! I’d love to see what kind of crazy kooky plays you can make with a venom counter deck like this, and if there’s any way I can help, let me know! {error: loading} yes totally agree. As I said in the profile, the venom snakes are really only in here for flavor and you can be free to replace them with whatever you want. Iperia and lion alligator are some great options. However one snake I absolutely do not recommend is evil dragon Ananta. As cool as that snake is, it completely fails at the win con by banishing all the rest of your snakes. Hope this helps!

yes. I've considered it but ultimately decided against it due to the fact that you can't trigger it except if you take battle damage so its vulnerable to destruction. you're welcomed to try it though!

Thanks so much! Really glad you enjoyed it! Pot actually did come up for me as an option to run in place of demise, though I’m not sure how to fit it in here. Demise did so much for this deck. It was a card that gets more consistent over the course of the duel as you thin your deck of snakes and summon your big snake. It also had the extra added benefit of discarding any monsters you drew off of it for use in your graveyard, an extremely strong hidden benefit that I grossly underestimated. You’re exactly right when it comes to the weaknesses of extravagance. Will always draw 2 and never 3, and It conflicts with duality while demise worked in tandem with it. I think if we were to put in extravagance, we’d have to take out dualities and completely change up the spell lineup so they work in synchronization. I hope we can find a way to keep moving the deck forward together! Open to any and all ideas you might have!

Oh, card of destruction might work. Maybe "Guarded Treasure", then there's this one monster card that discards the top cards of deck to graveyard but it's more of a gamble to use. I'd rather have a controlled type

Yep! Hit the nail right on the head. Nothing less than a graceful-charity-Esque card would do the trick in this situation, which is unfortunate beyond words. I’m sure somewhere out there is a deck just as good that runs things like extravagance, popperup, and a bunch of continuous traps, but I spent all my energy on testing and building this deck and have not had the desire to jump back in so completely and fully to theorycrafting again. The best substitute might just be called by the grave to stop ash but the consistency of the deck takes such a huge hit, it’s like night and day. Thanks so much for the fast view! In this deck my focus was on the Hyper Venom counters and consistent turn 2 naga! I found it was better to focus on big snake and if new support comes, I’m gonna definitely do some experimentation on venom kaiju!

This deck is nice for me it would be much better if you will have the aid of the titans in it for spot removal, i know that your build is focused on the hyper venom counter for the snake deity. Imagine activating Interrupted kaiju slumber and then giving Gameciel in your opponent's field while you have let's say 6 or maybe 8 venom monsters in your GY Then if snake deity attacks the Gameciel who has lower atk than snake deity then it is a free hyper venom. General idea giving the opponent a lesser kaiju and having snake deity atk it will generate hyper venoms then there you go a fasr phase hyper venom generator. A spot removal and a free hyper venom generator all at the same time.

But overall this is a nice deck man imma give it a try first.

Definitely makes sense but it will of course be a huge challenge to pull off! Right now, every card and ratio in this deck has been meticulously tested to summon out big snake. It ended up being such a huge problem for me to summon it, that I just put every card I had into it! Don’t get me wrong nothing is better than the kaiju for running things over, but they unfortunately won’t do me too good if I can’t get out big snake to start. I’d love to see the idea in action though! If you find a way to turbo those kaiju into Vennominaga, believe me, I’m all ears!

Tried it. Several times. The big problem is that those cards are straight up minus-1s. We can’t afford anything more than a 1 for 1 card trade in this deck :(

Davvid Camacho Romero tried it out and you’re welcome to add or replace any of the reptiles in this build with other stuff! A popular choice has been iperia. The “‘Strayans” have been loving that lizard for the extra draw power he provides. 3 of each of those and a venom cobra and you’re golden!

Glad to hear it Jonathan! This is an original home brew of my own creation and believe me, it’s the greatest venom deck ever made. Build it for yourself and test it out on that game. You will absolutely not believe what it’s capable of!
