Just that Armstrong was had rigged the duel in his favor with his surveillance cameras watching both duelists hands and field and knowing how to counter a turn or two later thanks to the workers giving him input. Yusei most likely saw the cards that he was given by the other prisoners, so he knew how to run his deck. Heck, he even told Armstrong that his main strategy was getting the latter to force the former to dump cards from his deck to his GY. It's a common Yusei-theme strategy, "My cards work fine from the deck, hand or GY, so it doesn't matter what you do in regards to that." Much later on, one of Yusei's opponents who actually utilized a Deck Destruction themed strategy actually had astounding success. Also as there was no plot armor in this one duel just a case of everything being rigged in Armstrong's favor originally, the only non-normal incident was Alex de-powering the building briefly. Yusei simply gave Armstrong a taste of his own method, "You want to cheat? Well then, I'll do it too at least once." Proceeds to change the location of his two face-down Traps. The use of surveillance cameras makes a callback to Syrus and Tyranno had their tag duel and took advantage of their opponent's monsters showing them each of their own hands (Syrus and Tyranno abused this so they could tell what each other had in their hand.) Also, callback because the use of trying to 'cheat' the duel backfired on those attempting to do so as said duelists ended up losing.

That kind of decision would be under the category called “logic”. Something which I’m certain that just about NO ONE is actually known for using in any of the Yugioh anime series. It’s just a bunch of rigged rules and majorly broken card effects that are only useful in the show and is also only made for the suspense (especially in the climax) of said show. (Logic and actual skill…something that only the main antagonist of the series never tries using).

Um..5ds had the best storyline. It also had great character development for everyone. I think its better than GX and I watched the entirely of that show. This Turbo Duel is a simple yet complexing concept. Its not hard to grasp it once you get used to it. 5ds season 1 2 and 3 were all pretty good. Hell, Yusei and Akiza was confirmed to finally get married and isn't one of those yu gi oh shows that leaves us hanging dry. Yusei is arguably the best protagonist ever. This dude is so laid back and calm but when you mess with his friends, you got another thing coming. Yusei rarely loses but he's not invincible. All in all, 5ds can be the best Yu gi oh show ever. its still 2nd best after the original. GX is third best.

When they arrested Yusei, they watched the footage from his duel with Jack.

Because what happened is he had his flunkies surveillance the duel so he could win and he knew about the Battle Mania trap card which would force his weaker monster to fight Yusei's kick man equipped with the Axe of Despair spell. I'm thinking to myself, if you're going to cheat, at least use your brain while cheating because if you take out the monster, then battle mania would have been pointless.

I think I just figured it out. He was hoping to get an automatic victory sooner by not attacking at all since not attacking would’ve caused Yusei to deck out. That’s why he went after Battle Mania.

Since Armstrong was primarily using his Iron Chain monsters as a mill deck, he was intentionally concentrating on getting rid of all of the cards.
