Yūki Ishikawa (石川祐希, born 11 December 1995) is a Japanese volleyball player, a member of the Japan men's national volleyball team, and currently plays for the Italian club Power Volley Milano.
Career
In 2014 and 2015, Ishikawa played for the Italian team Parmareggio Modena.[1] He then returned to Japan to play professionally. In 2016, he played for the Italian club Top Volley Latina. During this time, he was an exchange student while actually still playing for his university. After graduating from Chuo University in 2018, he signed his first professional contract with the Italian team Emma Villas Siena.
His sister, Mayu Ishikawa,[2] is a member of the Japan women's national volleyball team.[3]

Nishida is definitely a powerful player but Ishikawa is a smart one! You will see that from the way he scores and that makes him a monster.

I think this title meant that Ishikawa was better than Nishida when he was at same age as Nishida now. But the learning process is different among people, so Nishida can be better and clever in time as well.

i don't disagree with the title, but i do think it's worth noting that Ishikawa plays OH while Nishida plays OP and that in and of itself affects the chances to score, iirc

I suppose that you are new (given you don't even know the names of the positions) I recommend to just play volleyball, don't lock into a position from the start. Get the basics down and hopefully your coach will introduce you to the most suitable position for you.

You mean monster in vertical jump? Because if we compare Yuki and Nishida, Yuki is an overall player and he can be a secondary setter as well, he even played libero before so Yuki is better than Nishida. But when it comes to scoring and vertical jump, Nishida is better

i never saw japan played this level when yuki was 20..?and i wonder why? but in 2019 when nishida is here we can see the difference...

It is not just because of Nishida, it is because of their new coach, new Middle blockers, new primary setter Sekita and libero (forgot the name), Nishida's position is opposite if I'm not mistaken, if the team got a perfect reception the setter will most likely make a back set or quick to decieve the opponent's blockers, Nishida uses more strength than mind because he's better than it and rarely made drop shots and definitely easier for him to score than Yuki. Nishida said himself that as of now he's still trying to learn how to make drop shots and off the block points which 18 or 19 year-old Yuki can easily done. So I can say that Yuji is a monster when it comes to scoring, spiking and serving while Yuki is almost good at everything. They're both monsters and there's no doubt about that.

Case in point, #5 Fukuzawa is only 3 cm taller than Nishida but spikes 9 cm higher, but his jumps don’t look as prominent.

@@Sa-fd7ih Maybe because he's a lefty. Try to watch Victor Poletaev if you haven't known him yet, he's a left handed as well and same position as Nishida, they're both facing sideways when they hit the ball specially in the back row.
