Lol I keep finding people who watched the novel first say that the anime is shit... Although I haven't watched the novel first but I feel the anime is good... Then I remember my friends told me that there's a movie he watched the novel before the movie. Then the movie dint have the scene from the novel and he was wtf this movie sucks... Well I was already not so happy with it when it got to the trailers, butchering it's original art style. At that point I was really questioning how it would go, and it ended up skipping really good stuff in the beginning, and focusing on fan service. Later episodes it spoiled way to much, specifically in Sakuya's case. The way it worked in the VN, is that in each route different parts of the world would be "discovered". Almost like a puzzle, you had to play all the pieces to understand the overall story, making each route REALLY cool to read.

The anime doesn't cover a lot. The visual novel was way better at telling the story compared to the anime. For those who have never read the visual novel, most of what happens in the anime might not make sense. The plot moves way too quickly. Especially the way how the anime ended is very confusing.

i read the VN first, and I found the anime entertaining. I agree that the anime doesn't explain a lot, because a lot of the cue is presented as visual rather than words. so it is not really making much sense for new audience, but for an original player, I found them interesting of how the anime translate the detail from the VN to screen. I am kinda hoping to see more background on other characters. To those who criticize the anime need to know that anime is a different media than VN. I used to be a heavy critic on VN adopted anime because I used to like the VN the way it is, and i am not convince with the changes. However, only after clannad I accept the changes. In fact Clannad after story is better than the original VN in term of dynamic story telling, not static. static is reading, dynamic is showing. To be honest, i like the decision they make rewrite anime to be the prologue of the game. The world before the world of happening in game. I actually think the concept is brilliant. the kagari we see is the Earth one, I was thinking the anime is going for the terra route, but No, it is an entire new route. At the end of the anime we show Earth became moon. so the event of the game happens, and moon route show the end of the story on moon, and the theory built by moon kagari is going to make the story of terra. If you think about that, this anime is actually amazing. Not only it is the prologue of he entire story but it also translate many story in the game to the anime and added some more. However, I would still like the anime to drag the last eps a bit longer and show a bit more fighting. Because there are so much ability of each character we have not seem on screen yet.

it was bad because they put random scenes from all the routes example when shizuru takes kotarou to her house and tells him about her perents and her power and when he made himself immune to lucia's poison then when sakuya goes to his final familiar form and when they where in kotori's workshop(her base) that was only on kotori route and akane route when she went to the sanctuary but still its still good but love the visual novel yeah shizuru,chihaya, and akane routes best route

Aidan Mullins I mean the song doesn't just sound beautiful in it's lyrics but whatever. I was working on the lyrics the other day but then I accidentally closed the tab. I can't translate all of it but I'd say it's pretty accurately related to the show to at least the extent that the song makes sense. Regardless though I don't understand how my comparison didn't make sense but oh well.

PokemonMasterAlpha I'm not sure what comparison you are referring to, and I never said you didn't think the lyrics were beautiful. My comment was aimed at the part where you said the anime doesn't deserve this as an ending song. It's not right to say that a show doesn't deserve an opening or ending, UNLESS it doesn't fit the show. This ending fits the show perfectly, tone and lyrics, so I think they deserve each other perfectly
