Pianist YUNDI shares personal reflections on some of the Mozart Piano Sonatas that feature in his new album on Warner Classics Mozart: The Sonata Project - Salzburg.
The album includes Mozart’s Piano Sonatas K. 310, K. 475, K. 457, and K. 331. Yundi secured international attention when, at the age of 18, he was the younges and first Chinese winner of the Chopin International Piano Competition.

I always Love Mozart since I was little, and Chopin when i was young, then Beethoven. Yundi plays all my favourite pianist composers. I wish Yundi best life and musicians journey. Yundi has best tastes of piano music.❤❤

I like it when Yundi tells the story of how Mozart wrote his music. You had to know the back end story to meet and interact with the composer spiritually, so as to have the best interpretation. Yundi will also put in his own emotions, which makes it even more touching. After all the ups and downs he’s been through, he chose to play Mozart, his childhood favorite, showing Yundi’s mindset as an artist has never been truly tainted❤

Yundi's favourite composer is Liszt, so when he brings his considerable technique to Mozart, the results are fantastic, full of elegance, refinement and subtlety. It repays repeated and careful listening.

Yundi is the best! Cannot wait for him to visit the East Coast, USA. I bought his tickets for the Los Angeles 2020 but he got into some trouble in China. Super happy to see his return!🌷
