It's been established that Garry IC did not like the fact that they had people in holding for an extended period of time, despite having close to no physical evidence that could be used, and relying entirely on speculation and wrangler's accusations. That and the character Garry is also in character friends with Yuno and has shown that time and time again. Of course he'd think it's stupid that Yuno would be held for a baseless claim. Much like how he didn't agree with Wrangler calling for the shooting on the seaside crew and gunning them all down despite also having 0 confirmation or solid evidence against them. Also "getting a conviction" isn't wrangler's job, protecting Law and Order is, which he isn't doing by continuing to make bad calls like gunning down individuals not related to crimes he's accusing them of. If it were the case of being the main part of his job, then why is he literally the only member of the PD that acts the way he does.
