Lots of comments about music lately. I have used music of all genres on this channel, there have always been some who like it and some who don't. In the end, I just choose what I think is best, so you don't need to spend the time and energy commenting. Nobody is forcing you to watch this video. Have a nice day.

Just a pull-up on rings compared to bar much harder. A dip on the rings compared to bar dips levels of multitude more difficult Doing what this beast is doing in this video is just absurd strength. You gotta achieve the mindset too , but even then any tweaks or old tears or bad lifestyle habits that get in the way, for atleast 10 good years of work? Forget about it. And you gotta do it in that sweet spot of your prime years that it can handle the overtraining that is necessary for that peaking phase for max effort performances. And even then to do as good as him is still unlikely. Legend

i believe that even top athletes can have serious problems with addiction, and impulsive decisions. van gelder is one of the best on rings and made it to the top only to have it crumble because of his dopamine receptors and nucleus accumbens being focused towards a short term gain (fun and party) over the long term (becoming the best ringsman who ever lived).
@art_of_defying_gravity

I think everyone has his problems and we all have and will do mistakes. I think we shouldn't interpret too much. What we do know is that he is a great athlete and he deserves this.
@T.R.A.I.N.I.N.G.
@T.R.A.I.N.I.N.G. 7 ай бұрын
@@art_of_defying_gravity i am not trying to speculate or imagine things beyond what all the involved people, including van gelder, have said. his colleagues have said he is a party guy, and he himself admitted as such. he has two sides to him, where he is a serious and top form athlete, but also a propensity towards partying and vices. i don't care to make a moral judgment, because no one is perfect. however, it is simply my personal opinion that van gelder made a serious mistake to drink and party (even if a little bit) before such an important moment of his career such as the olympics, especially when he was already on thin ice for being caught positive for cocaine before multiple times. he should definitely have given his performance, for which he was actually a very strong contender to get gold, and THEN partied and got drunk as much as he wanted. instead, he made a crucial mistake to drink before, and the olympic committee and coaches etc. simply could not allow that since he was already considered penalized before for cocaine use. but, alas, that is simply how addiction and short-term thinking works, and we simply have to accept that addiction comes in many forms and can affect anyone. this is what i take away from the life story of van gelder, hopefully even if his olympic career is gone forever, he can continue to bring up gymnasts, gymnastics, and especially speak to the glory of the rings for the rest of his life. after all, in the calisthenics and gymnastics community he is very well regarded as a talented gymnast. his story can be inspiring precisely due to his mistakes, and not inspite of it.
@deltalima6703

Rings is the only real gymnastics discipline, the rest are easy in comparison. Van Gelder is probably the best there ever was on rings. A bureaucratic mess like the olympics cant affect that fact, much as they wish they could. He was not a drug addict, he was a sportman.
@michaellopez2070
@michaellopez2070 13 күн бұрын
The time and investment he made in gymnastics was way more than partying. There are people that basically make partying a full time thing, often musicians and bartenders, etc. He wasn't like that. All it takes is one incident is a month long period to fail a drug test, or it could be even more than one month, depending on the nature of the test. Edit: I suppose the leaving the Olympic village when he knew it would get him disqualified did demonstrate a genuine problem of self-control, although the performances stand on their own. I don't like him, but I would still cite Jon Jones as the best mixed martial artist ever, even though he was impulsive and frequently used drugs and drank/drinks to excess.
