I was missing fights like these from my recent binge Asian dramas. I like that they did a 5 episode series and not a 2 and a half hour movie. I’m sure there’s a lot that still wasn’t included but to me this was way better than the live action Bleach from a few years ago.

I love all of Hiei's fights, his first appearance was epic🙌👏, and also he took his sword out of its scabbard with Yusuke the second fight 😆

So i didn't know this show dropped already. I was an anime fan before anime was cool and YYH was why i had no sleep every night going into high school lol the fight scenes on this live action is top tier! Where were u when they made Last Airbender 😂 i see it follows a different story as well. Im one if the few hardcore fans that can accept a different take on my favorite media and still enjoy it. Ima check this show out.

By all accounts, yes. They didn't have the budget or the episode count that One Piece did. The pacing is definitely the biggest problem with the Netflix series, but the basic pieces are there IMO. The fight scenes are epic, the characters are true to the ones we love and you can definitely tell that there was genuine effort put into this

the fight scenes have so much potential but the rest of the show looks and feels rushed. i think the show would be much better if it wasn't condensed into such few episodes

It’s odd that the Japanese actors always seem to misinterpret and therefore inaccurately depict their own creation (manga/anime), characters that are insanely cool in animé. Like here, why do yusuke and hiei fight light they’re drunk, with all the unnecessary adlibs on the action, not to mention the annoying facial expressions of the actor playing yusuke.

What you're confusing as drunk or adlibing movements are normal human mannerisms that occur when people fight in real life. If they had tried to make them look stiff and completely precise like actual drawings then it would clash with the medium it's in. This adaptation is meant to utilize live action to its fullest the same way the anime utilized animation to its fullest or the manga utilizing panel structure and its evolving art. Watch Scott Pilgrim or Speed Racer if you want that pure anime style in live action with no filter.

Normal human mannerisms? Real life? And who says that the only alternative is being stiff and completely precise? Aren’t you the one confusing fiction from reality? Why would you try to bring to as close to reality as possible what is clearly a fantasy work meant to give the audience something that’s out of the ordinary so we can enjoy it without prejudice from reality’s standards? You’re asking me to want to see a hybrid (yusuke) who would later on run for 5 straight days non-stop (and at full speed at that) to fight like an ordinary human?

@@saitamathehero7028 Yes. Yes. You spoke as if you WANTED that alternative. How am I confusing fiction and reality when I literally explained how different they are? I'm not asking you to WANT anything. I didn't make the live action series nor did I want it, I'm explaining to you the logic on why and how they would make it this way. It was always going to be different because adaptations under different mediums require different approaches to presentation. It's okay if you're disappointed by it, but that doesn't mean it's absent from merit.

"yu yu hakusho 1992" is a real series with over 100 episodes and you know what the series is about. Yu Yu Hakusho Netflix is crap that instead of investing in at least 50 episodes to make it clear what the series is about, Netflix stupidly made 6 episodes.
