Nothing, and I mean it, nothing comes even remotely close to Kouros. It's called 'King Kouros' for a reason.

I wear Jovan Musk almost every time, I like the striking close to the face scent it produces. This is my Dad's fragrance back in the 80's. Every time I am doing a design and I feel glum I would energize my thoughts with the smell of this. So I always have this and my others on my computer table just in case to keep me sharp.

I have 2 bottles of Kouros and 2 of Jovan, one being the Black Musk. I made a men's perfume in Grasse (am an amateur perfumer), France , and have included 2 notes that make it old school animalic: civet and castoreum :)

I occasionally wear Kouros. Very mixed reactions from girls, some bordering on outright disgust. Wouldnt recommend for date night.

Hey Aussie, blessings man. I now have Jovan and i do find it slightly animalic, if it has civet it's in a minimal dose, but i do find a certain animalic edge to it. But my musk bombs are CK's female Obsession (A very unisex scent) and Givenchy Gentleman from 1974 which is pretty much Kouros' dad, a patchouli bomb with an old leather note and a civet fecal funk that i really like, but i do find harder to wear. @@proodscot You need to sample other things. Usually the untrained nose gives off thoughts or impressions like that. And simply is because of lack of experience. Just get used to them and they'll be an adquired taste, just as IPA beer. Animalic musks are not for everyone by any means

Hi Buddy, love your Content and reviews in about Perfumes. keep up the good job, BTW do they still use the original Musky Base note derived straight from The Musk Deer or Civet cat, or is the Musk now put in Kouros perfume Synthetic? But one thing I will say 'Kouros' is the king of Musky/Anamalic Based perfumes. 💯Authentic Mens Musks Fragrances, also where can I buy Kouros perfume at an affordable price. under $100 ?❤❤❤❤

The civet in Kouros is synthetic and has been for quite some time. Priceline regularly has Kouros on sale for under $100. I believe the best special I’ve seen is $69 AUD.

I got Kouros when it was first released in the 80's and it was a fantastic fragrance.Sadly the Kouros for sale now has been altered and is nothing like it was when first released.I dont know why they mess about with the scent when it was a success yet they have altered it.

Generally companies reformulate when certain ingredients become too expensive or are found to be carcinogenic or harmful. Sometimes it’s just a precaution though.

@@AussieMarcel I read it was reformulated because it was too " animalistic " whatever that is supposed to mean.They do the same with womens fragrances - massive success then they go and mess about with the scent and change it.

I just bought Jovan and I have to admit the first thing it reminded me of was Calvin Klein escape but without the fruity banana smell. I absolutely love it

@@AussieMarcel just got into it and it's the best dumb-reach fragrance because of the price. Will always have a bottle of this and Acque di Selva for those short errand runs or a lazy workday

Jovan's Musk is one of those scents where on a warmer day it can last over 5 hours on your skin but on colder days it fades much more quickly. It's a little on the softer side so if you have to overspray, that's okay.
