Caution on the kick start install instructions: hey says turn the kick starter shaft fully counterclockwise then in stall the spring. That's wrong, turn it clockwise. I know because I just spent an hour mucking with this & found the manual says clockwise and it works. I think you can see the operator turn it clockwise Great video anyway.

i wish there was a video like this for my gsxr750 srad... Every company should have videos like this for all of their motorcycles...

I had the pleasure of doing top end work on my 1980 KZ 1300, it was very easy to work on. I'm glad that I didn't have to remove the engine, that would have been hard.

Having the factory tools and having done the procedure many times beforehand makes this process looks simple. Without the speciality shop tools this process is in practice very difficult.

This was as good as a WW2 aircraft mechanic working on a B-25 engine..............loved it!

I got a bit lost around the shifter y’s and bushings. Which goes where and face concave bushing. Top dead center on crank and camshafts I get perfectly. A lot of mechanics won’t let That camshaft chain drop. You see him fishing it out. Lol. Plus a lot of them get superstitious about the wear life of the chain, they want to keep it in position since the day it was assembled.

Good stuff. Love it. Guys..big question. I have recently rebuilt KZ to a 1075. Obviously more displacement. More heat. Has or does anyone recommend an oil cooler?? I don’t want to put one on as they are ugly but all The KZ boys know these bikes out off some heat. Sure appreciate it fellas.

Actually, you don't really need most of them, they come up on ebay but you need to be quick and have plenty of cash!!
