We are finally able to install the timing belt in the 1986 300ZX. This is a quick update but there is more to come.

Mark the timing belt on the edge with some white paint so you can easily see the crankshaft sprocket alignment with the belt.

Maybe it just did not look like it on video but use engine oil to lub seal before installing it, makes it easier.

I am not sure if we used lube this time. I will have to check the old footage. But, you are so right! If I remember correctly, the seals came with some grease for installation. The problem the first time was that it went in too easily!! One side slid in too far. We messed it up trying to pull it out to re-do it.

@@MaqsVids I have also had that happen. Most horrible experience was installing end seal/plug on porsche 924 gearbox. That thing just did not want to go in there, managed to get second one in somehow but for whatever reason both just fought back hard.
