My Dad passed away 4 weeks ago. He was an Air Force fighter pilot and a Vietnam Vet, who served two tours in Vietnam, and taught many other pilots. I've been sorting through the memorabilia he left behind, and there are so many things that show very clearly just how tight the bond is between Brothers in Arms. This movie was a great illustration of that as well. To all the Vets out there, know that your sacrifice is appreciated, more than you will ever know. And to all of the spouses and families, without your sacrifice, our Vets could not do their jobs half as well. Thank you. High Flight By John Gillespie Magee, Jr. Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth, And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air. "Up, up the long delirious burning blue I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace, where never lark, or even eagle, flew; and, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of God.

Insanely good movie. Salute to all those who serve, but especially to US military.
@christrotta91736 жыл бұрын
Why especially to US troops? All other countries’ troops risk just as much, fight just as hard, and love their country just as much as ours do, even our enemies. While we may not like every nation’s military, we should still salute the courage and bravery it takes to serve. Especially to those that go against us, because they either must be much braver or absolutely crazy to even think about facing the might that is the United States military.
@knowledge61396 жыл бұрын
Chris Trotta ...They probably from America and supports the United States more than other nations (Being from the United States I support our military more)

Chris Trotta Because I served in the US Army for 7 years. You are right, I have met and served with plenty of brave men and women from there own respective countries. And that is why I said salute to all who serve. But because I still have brothers in the military now, and because I live in the US, I say a special thank you to those who defend our great country.

When you heart's on the edge Barely hanging on like a midnight cigarette When the nights don't seem to end And that lonely wind is singing you to sleep once again I won't make a promise I can't keep Like a river flows to the ocean deep It goes on and on Bound to forever Even when we're gone It goes on and on We'll be together At the rising of the dawn It goes on When your mind's on the loose Slowly wearing out like a faded old tattoo When the days all look the same When that lonely wind keeps singing only you can ease the pain That's the kind of bond that you can't break Like looking up at all the stars in space It goes on and on Bound to forever Even when we're gone It goes on and on We'll be together At the rising of the dawn It goes on Digging through the sands of time to find my way back home Your memory's the thing that keeps me hanging on To know I'm not alone, we're stronger than the bonds of blood Even on the darkest days together through the valley of the gun It goes on and on Bound to forever Even when we're gone It goes on and on and on We'll be together At the rising of the dawn We'll be together At the rising of the dawn Traduzir para o português

If I was old enough then and as skilled as these 12 men in real life. I would have gone! No bigger honor, though when they got back home they didn’t get recognized publicly till it was declassified

My grandpa served in ww2 and one of the select few to operate the first nuclear power submarine. He sadly passed shortly after I graduated high school
