It’s 4:16am ..by the campfire. I don’t know if it’s happy or sad tears. I just know this song hits my heart. “ you’re drinkin everything to ease your mind…but when the hell are you gonna ease mine ..sometimes I think to myself, when will I be able to ease my own mind

The truth is there is no quick fix for grief the trick is not to dwell on it too much by finding something you enjoy doing, that is the best advice I can give.

I’ve only just started listening to this song. What a beauty. I’m not sure of the songs meaning but it sounds like 2 people that remember a past relationship very differently.

Thats a good thing, wasnt healed if you were just numbing the feelings, true good music that speaks to a person always brings those blues back a second time around for the “true healing”. Feel it, grow wise from it, embrace the “feels” and truly heal while feeling it all

What a voice!! I love this song ❤ I’ve never listened to a lot of American country music, being a UK fan of rock and Indie but you have some really awesome, talented country song writers and musicians that are not heard enough over here…❤🇬🇧⚓️

I’ve been hearing this song “ left and right “ ! I’m currently going through a separation after 18 years! Which is completely my fault! However, this song has a deep connection with me because of the truth I. The love he shared with that person. Which is exactly what me and my wife had before I took it all for granted. It’s a painful reminder of how great someone and something was, but it’s also a chance for redemption! Sometimes, the world only speaks to you through song, and I guess that’s how I receive the messages… God bless and thank you for those lyrics 💪🏼

Me and my ex fiance split I think mostly do to my drinking and this kills me man, I probably never will live upf to the man I said I'd be for her. And I didn't even mean to slip into alcoholism like that I just worked 50+ hours a week at a Krogers and needed something to ease my mind yk? God if I could go back and tell my stubborn ass to keep the lid on the bottle. One day at a time, one day at a time

I apologize for the typos. What that was meant to say in that paragraph in the simplest way is ; cherish what’s in front of you and stop looking for something behind you…. A category 5 storm will still have sunshine after its worst flaws and imperfections. Which in return creates new growth and beginnings… I wish I seen and felt this before I lost the most important person to me. Hopefully someone else can read this and embrace the truth!

Rotgut whiskey's gonna ease my mind Beach towel rests on the dryin' line Do I remind you of your daddy in his '88 Ford? Labrador hangin' out the passenger door The sand from your hair is blowin' in my eyes Blame it on the beach, grown men don't cry Do you remember that beat down basement couch? I'd sing you my love songs and you'd tell me about How your mama ran off and pawned her ring I remember, I remember everything A cold shoulder at closing time You were begging me to stay 'til the sun rose Strained words come on out Of a grown man's mouth when his mind's broke Pictures and passin' time You only smile like that when you're drinking I wish I didn't, but I do Remember every moment on the nights with you You're drinkin' everything to ease your mind But when the hell are you gonna ease mine? You're like concrete feet in the summer heat It burns like hell when two souls meet No, you'll never be the man that you always swore But I'll remember you singin' in that '88 Ford A cold shoulder at closing time You were begging me to stay 'til the sun rose Strained words come on out Of a grown man's mouth when his mind's broke Pictures and passin' time You only smile like that when you're drinking I wish I didn't, but I do Remember every moment on the nights with you Cold shoulder at closing time You were begging me to stay 'til the sun rose Strained words come on out Of a grown man's mouth when his mind's broke Pictures and passin' time You only smile like that when you're drinking I wish I didn't, but I do Remember every moment on the nights with you Rotgut whiskey's gonna ease my mind Beach towel rests on the dryin' line Do I remind you of your daddy in my '88 Ford? Labrador hangin' out the passenger door
