Solo hiking the O Trek/ O Circuit in Torres del Paine was one of the most amazing backpacking trips I have ever been on! And don't let anyone fool you, there are plenty of other people on trail so you won't be "solo hiking" that much and you are guaranteed to make a ton of new friends along the way. I met people from all over the world as well as many new Chilean friends who are very proud of the Los Torres del Paine National Park. #torresdelpaine #besthikingpatagonia #otrek
I chose the 8-day hike and booked it directly with Los Torres and let them take care of everything. The trail is only supposed to be 75 miles or 120 kilometers but in total, you will hike much more than that.

Hey! Do you guys like this format where I am not using music or would you prefer music during the nature scenes to spice it up a little bit? Let me know!

Yeah, music would be nice. Hearing the wind was kinda distracting, but, like you said, that's part of the journey.

Excellent vlog. Recently started to research a visit to Santiago and did not know of the opportunity to hike the Torres del Paine. Spectacular!

Thanks! This is actually a pretty "easy" one. Compared to thru hiking the Appalachian Trail, the O Trek was more like glamping, just over a tough terrain. However, the views and people I met made this circuit utterly amazing.

Thanks for the kind words! I agree, this is an incredible place. I am actually heading back to El Chalten next week so I can do the Huemul Circuit and summit Fitz Roy. What else did you do down there?

Excellent video. So refreshing to hear the many sounds of nature and your footsteps. So grateful you didn't add music, which is almost always annoying and distracting. Since I'm doing the 9 day O in January 2024, your video was very helpful in giving an idea of what a summer trek could be. Probably the best video quality of the circuit that I've seen. I can't imagine what you went through having to scramble for gear. Way to tough it out. Thanks for posting!

Thank you for the nice comments! I started watching other videos and realized how much music distracts from the actual experience. I own a successful construction company so I don't have this channel for income, I do it to share the beautiful landscapes on this planet and help other hikers. You're going to LOVE the O Trek and jealous I can't go do it again this next year. When you come over the pass, it's going to take your breathe away.

Seen quite a few videos about hiking the o trek, so far I think you captured the best views. Especially seeing totally different vegetation zones or biomes back to back... amazing. In which month did you go? And how many people were there around?

Great video! It was nice being able to enjoy the video without having crazy music the whole time so I could enjoy nature. Are you just doing hiking videos now?

Doint this February 2024! Would you run into other hikers throughout each day ? Asking from a safety standpoint in case of emergency or assistance. Or are there park rangers? TY, great video !!

Absolutely! It's impossible to get lost of this trail. I highly recommend doing it solo. With all the refugios and campsites, this is more like glamping that true backpacking! Which was very nice might I add :)

Would you recommend a woman doing the O solo?
@hikingwithhollywood
@hikingwithhollywood 9 ай бұрын
Absolutely! I have never done a trail that I wouldn't recommend a woman doing solo. Many of the ladies I hiked with on the O Trek were solo. You will make friends the first day on the trail, maybe even before like I did. I consider this much more of a glamping hike than a wild backcountry hike.

Well.. major planning error but you survived…. Next time don’t put canisters on a plane.. you could buy them overseas or get charged with trying to blow up an airline.

Not my first rodeo, but yes, I agree with just waiting to buy any consumables once you arrive. I am a minimalist and when I go live in another country, I only bring my hiking pack and a small backpack.
