@@Simply-Director That's interesting seeing as the CPU will absolutely survive any fall it may see inside a computer case, but the pins in the socket will be damaged from dropping the CPU on them from even a few centimeters.

Tbf, he did mention why. He said he got the new graphics card, and the only other cpu he had was a downgrade from his current. So he swapped that downgrade with his current, so he could use the better cpu in a new build. Not saying it’s not a hidden ad, but still.

I've so many working computer components, tablets and laptops it's a shame to throw them away, when I was 14 I would possibly have killed somebody to get my hands on such hardware. Nowadays it just piles up, it's also too much trouble to sell it, like data has to be erased first and the new owner might not be able to start it for some reason, or it's too old so nobody even wants it. I wish I could send all this stuff to my younger self some decades ago.

I tried the 7800xtx with my 7950x3d and was honestly really disappointed. The card performed really well but amd drivers and software are leagues behind Nvidia still. Amazing cpus, mid gpu.

Why didn’t you just go with the 7800x3d. The CPU you went with cuts it’s 12 cores in half to 6 cores in order to do 3D Vcache.

at this point just wait it out. New cards are coming from Nvidia ( possibly jan 2024 for reveal ) which could drop prices of all other cards. COULD being the keyword here, I usually am against waiting but seeing as its so close you may as well. You could get a 7900xtx even cheaper then.

We better not give money to Nvidia considering they're about launch the Super which will cost more for incremental gains and should've been the actual 4000 series since the SUPERs don't have downgraded bus width. AMD is the only one pushing Nvidia to cut down prices of their cards especially with the 7800xt

@@pauloazuela8488 the 7800xt is honestly a joke. Its barely better than my 6800xt and in reality is more like a 7700 upsold to a 7800. Just like the 7900xt and xtx. They are just as bad as Nvidia in the end and only want money. They do not care about dropping prices and it shows by the fact they tried selling 7900xts for 900 and the xtx for 1000.

Nahh man that 12400 and 980ti are still very competent on 2023, it has 6gb of vram and performs like an GTX1660 Super. Although id just say keep it how it is. Get more storage or more RAM then upgrade to an RX5700XT or an 6700XT if you want to. The 12400 performs like an i9 10900K and i9 11900K In single core performance.

Damn bruh my 2006 optiplex 960 with windows xp is rocking a solid i2 dual core (bone dry paste) with 2 gigs of ram and no additional graphics card. And get this it can even run Medal Of Honor Allied Assault for a good 15 minutes before randomly rebooting. If that ain’t a sleeper build I don’t know what is.

Nah not at all the 12700K is very powerfull, its a great pair honestly. Also there will always be a bottleneck in a pc. always, that how components communicate.

7th and 5th gen 😢 you need to upgrade that CPU and motherboard 🫶🏽 so the Ram & GPU can flow x2 better but still love the build.

have checked the bottle neck calculator with ryzen 5 3600 and rtx 2060 is it a good pair it is showing it has bottle neck of 0.02 for gaming on 1080 p screen

I’ve been rocking the 13700k with a 4080 for almost a year and i must say it’s quite nice. Google trying to tell me a 4080 is almost 15% faster than a 7900xtx but i don’t believe that. i play on 1440p now but its a MASSIVE upgrade over my old 1080ti even on 1080p and that is still crazy good frames if you have a cpu to feed the beast.

Based on my XTX in games and comparing number to others with the 4080, I get equal or up to 10% better FPS. It’s very game dependent of course, but I can definitely say that the 4080 is not 15% faster

Built my first pc around a month ago and holy shit.. it’s an awesome experience and upgrade from my Dell g5000 that had a 2060super. My new pc runs a 4070 super paired with the Ryzen 7600x 😊. It’s been handeling everything on 1440p ultra everything no problem

I’m going from an RTX 3080Ti with a 12600k in a DanA4 to an R5 8600G in a mini-case. I don’t need anywhere near that much power anymore, as I’ve never done video editing, and just don’t care about big, hungry, AAA titles or 4k graphics or any of that. (4k stuff tends to give my blind ass migraines, and I don’t have time for that kind of gaming anymore.)

I’ll never regret upgrading to a 7900xtx and the 7950x3d 128gb of ram 4tb of 990 pro ssd 360 cooler runs flawless well over 350 fps in almost anything medium to high settings at 1440. It also runs small recording set up for guitar tracking so it’s needed. Might even go 14900k just cause it’s so new lol

Just bought the same i5-12600kf with a 4060 to pair with it on a budget, would have done and but I’ve never used them so I wasn’t sure what to expect (keep in mind I’m rocking an i7-9700 with a 2060 currently)

The title is clickbait He's not actually downgrading his computer. Basically what he's doing is he's building a new computer but he's reusing one of the components from his old computer and then he's taking his old computer and putting a weaker replacement component in there and then selling it. In the end he's going to have a more powerful computer. I actually did something similar to this but instead of a CPU I downgraded the storage. My friend sold me his computer with a 256 gig SSD and a 2 TB HDD. So I took out my 3 TB HD and stuck it in the computer. I left my 64 GB SSD and I reinstalled my 750 GB IDE hard drive with a SATA adapter and then sold it.

As i would say, AMD and NVIDIA GPU's are great. I dont play fortnite, so amd can keep up. Im rocking an nividia rtx 4060, and its a great choice for its price tag.

I bought this GPU initially recently and is by far one of the best looking cards, but I wanted to start dabbling in streaming and what not and ended up getting a white Gigabyte Aero 4080 Super for only $30 bucks more and so worth it. I still don't understand why Nvidia doesn't supply more VRAM like AMD does but the extra features you get with Nvidia and their new Beta software with Geforce NOW make it totally worth it. Especially you being a content creator, you would want the Nvidia features. Plus Adrenaline is so flacky now that I've seen the other side for once.
