@@ZacJonesKZfaq oh the youtubers who walk into a scene with the camera setup on the floor as if we are to believe that the camera was always there. You just filmed and ended up fighting van lights turning off as door wasn't open, you didn't edit it all out and kept it real.

Zac is spot on about the steps involved and keeping fit. My both ride along days averaged 15k steps alone. And that's with just 80 drops. Imagine getting the full 100% capacity!

I'm probably the ideal customer for couriers, we have a electric gate so I always make sure it is open when I'm expecting a parcel and answer the door straight away politely...doesn't take much but some members of the public can't even seem to grasp basic courtesy like that for some reason! I also don't understand the laziness of some of my friends who make tiny orders just because they can't be bothered to walk into town although I guess it doesn't really make that much difference to a courier what they're delivering

5:40 I recently bought a fitness tracker and so far I have done between 8000 and 11000 steps depending on the route. It also monitors your heart rate and sleep. They are pretty cheap now so might be worth you buying one.

Great video Zac, I just finished my 2 ride alongs I went into it with knowing how physically demanding it is from your videos so that helped me be in the right mental state before starting. Been on a weight loss journey I'm 5 stone down hoping to lose the rest with the help of Amazon. (hopefully the leg pain stops soon lol) Keep up the good work man.

It will mate. It's because you're not used to working those muscles for that many hours a day. If it doesn't go away though then put your bare foot on the ground and kneel forward and put your fingers underneath. If they don't fit then you have flat feet and will probably need insoles and probably get a pair of running shoes or something if you're not already wearing them.

@@Adam-fc2lf It's going well mate, done my first week on full routes now after passing the nursery routes and everything is clicking much better. Leg pain has finally stopped now too so that's a bonus. Cheers for asking!

Zac, BRILLIANT! Total respect! Always have had respect and admiration for all couriers and delivery people. A bloody hard job! No messing. And on more than one occasion i have stood up for couriers. Even got in trouble at my work for my support! Was unsure about Amazon but watching you and getting to know our local drivers down our local High Street [which is tough! Parking etc] Your workload and indeed your approach and ethic to working is top notch! [I confess i try not to use Amazon... like Musk, Bezos is a 'sh*t! And dam scary with it, so nothing personal. You ever tempted to join UPS, DHL or DPD? Every success with the channel. Subscriber numbers on the increase! [Oh and your weight loss will happen! Great legs! Ha ha ha! Thank You, excellent content.

@@bdogplayz6984the first day was about 13 modules you go through on your phone. The second day was also on my phone but the instructor was taking the class through slides and videos then two tests at the end. An age verified delivery AVD test and just a general knowledge test

U forgot the number one rule never scanne in the van. Because if they say they didn't get the package they will not be able to tell where it went and they will offboad u. Always scanned at the door it makes it easy for the next driver to find the address. Take it form a dispatcher I know.

Whenever I have an Amazon delivery, I always fill in the 'delivery was great' and tick the 'above & beyond' to compliment the driver. Does me doing that actually do anything for the driver or am I wasting my time doing this after each delivery?

Hi Zac, I have been trawling through KZfaq for some inspiration on being (DSP) Amazon Delivery driver as im just about to start with Amazon soon,and stumbled across your lovely self. Thanks for giving us newbies an insight, I just love your positivity. Are there times when it becomes too overwhelming, to the point you just wanna throw in the towel??? Just one question... if you finish a block early ,and somebody needs support delivering some of their parcels, are you obliged to say yes??

As a ex Delivery driver, i know how bad it can be. 70 stops was the most i did but my stuff whas pallets of compost . machine parts . School books and stationary plus home Delivery's of window's doors hot tubs ect can be very physically demanding then had collections to do as well. Worst part if in a new area is finding your way about

Flexibility is key for me too, im in amazon for 11 weeks now (after 6months away) then 2 months in usa, then back for 7weeks then to asia 😂 Imagine trying that in a normal job 😊

Also meant to ask you........when I'm ordering a few things I split them into seperate orders, so that I may have 4 parcels delivered together instead of just one. Does this mean that the driver will get paid extra for delivering 4 parcels, or is it still only counted as 1 delivery?

they get paid for a "block", ie a shift worked. Unlike other companies they are not paid per item delivered. They get a fixed sum of money irrespective of how long it takes them to do the route, if they take 6 hours to do a route others manage in 4 then that is their tough luck (inefficiency).

Don’t have to work weekends, you can work whatever days but times are set

How do u know which bags are first are there labels on the bags so u know which parcels are in which bag

Fellow driver here, you load at the warehouse back to front, i.e first bag to be delivered is closest to the back of the van. Also there are labels on the packages that also help with the order of delivery. Hope that helps 🙂

Hello zac I've been watching your amazon vids for a while and commented a few times as I'm a amazon driver myself but on your video a couple weeks ago back to amazon did i hear you right saying your group pays £99 a day that seems low to me the group I'm with pays between 150 to 170 a day depending on if your in smaller van vito vivaro or a large van sprinters that type of van and they pay you daily

Zac if your only getting £99 for your whole day with that many parcels. On a nursery route. Surely it would be better just to flex. I do flex and i can £95 for doing a 4.5 block. Usually finished in around 3 hours. Admittedly i have to put my own fuel in. Plus wear and tear on my vehicle. But dsps get far to many parcels, although i will say dsps routing and delivery radius seems a lot better than flex

@@ZacJonesKZfaqit’s definitely worth it for a bit of extra money mate. I do a 9-5 and do flex as an added extra. can usually pick up £250-£300 a week just doing a few hours of an evening and a full day Saturday. With a mix of logistics and morrisons 👍

I’ve just switched from flex to DSP. Flex is dead in my area, so many new drivers and everyone taking base rates + less blocks. I used to be able to do £300/£400 a week, now I can barely scratch £180

Hi mate i’ve commented alot on your videos. I was just wondering is it income security? because ive heard stories with amazon i done it years ago but it was when it was third party companies doing it and i had to pay for my own van and be register as self employed. By the end i barely had an income and i was working 6 days a week. I ask , just i have a drug and alchol test with them tomorrow.

Speaking about angry customers..I have this one woman who lives above a pub, as a taxi driver I get about 15/20 jobs from that pub every Friday night. She orders a taxi via the app but rather than take the effort to type In her address she uses location which means the taxi gets sent to the pub. Not 15meters down the road to her flat door. She doesn't use a name she just types 'customer'. Every Friday she moans about having to walk to the taxi.

And I was wondering if yours or any other groups you know of do this if your a experienced driver been doing it a while and every now and again you get a nursery route but instead of going straight home when you finish you have to help someone who's struggling our boss will say at the depot you will finish fast so cos your on a nursery help one person or if you get a de brief route but don't want to be the de brief u can help someone and go home and they will make someone else the de brief

I see a yellow stick on the netrodyne camera 😂😂, I am an OSM in a depot is the east and everything you say is spot on. The only issue some of the new potiental new driver are worried about is the tax side of it all. Question to you is, do you do your own taxes?
