Every year needs him, just like every year needs people like Bob Marley, Morrissey, Oscar Wilde, Charlie Kaufman, Ian Curtis, John Lennon, Sartre, just for naming a few that helped humanity from art, wether it was music, cinema, literature, or whatever. And yet, everyone's going to die sometime. It doesn't matter if they die, or if they stop making art, what it matters is that they left an ideal, and that ideal will stick with us until the end of time. Just like new upcoming ideals will stick with us until the end of time. Don't feel bad about him not being so active nowadays, feel happy about what he did.

@@joenobody571 lol how in the HELL do these lyrics kill Rage? It's the exact same 'fight the power' template with a more cryptic approach, but in no way does that equate to more brilliance. RATM wasn't just Zack, it wasn't even primarily Zack. It was all four of them with absolutely brilliant chemistry that hasn't been matched since. One Day As A Lion, just like this song are the same travesty as Audioslave and Prophets of Rage, a brilliant recipe missing key ingredients. Doesnt make it bad, just incomplete. And what am I doing here? Maybe because I actually like the song? I'm just not silly enough to throw out notions that Zack would ever thrive without Tom, Brad, and Tim to any level close to what Rage accomplished.

My second time seeing Rage was in SDSU at the Cox Arena and I've never seen anyone have such control over the crowd. He could have said to go out burn this school to the ground, and it would have happened. The amount of passion and realness he brings is unequaled

As well as subject matter. So many people focus on the anger, the "Rage" Against The Machine and completely miss "The Machine" aspect. One of the greatest politically driven musicians in my lifetime, and most of it goes missed because "Rage". Ugh. This hits hard AF, and is serious subject matter.

That's why I love this and why I think Zack hasn't ever really been interested in getting RATM back together. He could do that easily for a huge cash grab, but he's more interested in moving forward and trying new stuff. This is way cooler than his former bandmates trying to cling to former glory.

Tom has put out 8 albums since Rage split. 3 Audioslave, 4 Nightwatchman, and 1 Street Sweeper Social Club. So it's about damn time Zach did something...though I did enjoy his One Day As A Lion project. But that was just an EP.

It's just mixed in between a lot of shit, but it's always been that way we just forget how much crap there was back in the day between great releases like Midnight Maurauders, Paid in Full, The Chronic, The Score, College Dropout, The Loneliest Punk, etc.
