Laser is so much better! I am so glad your doctor actually had you get his toes revised. So many doctors don't and it can cause so many issues like speech and the need for braces plus much more. My son had a lip and tongue tie and he first got it clipped but it didn’t help at all and then he got it done with a laser. The laser procedure was life changing. He sleeps all night, latches great and hardly ever cries. He is 3 months old. Make sure no matter when one you do you keep up with the exercises because the skin can reattach very easily!

Only had one baby, a boy who had to have his clipped. Done about 27 years ago during his pediatrician visit at around six weeks. They had me nurse him immediately after and he never thought about it again. LOL! It was more traumatic in my head than in reality. 😊

Glad you have a practitioner who believes in the fact that tongue and lip ties can have an adverse effect on nursing. I am a board certified lactation consultant who no longer practices ( am out of the maternal/ child health nursing field now as I slide toward retirement). I am pleased to hear that they are now using laser as well as the conventional approaches to ties. Glad all went well. I do enjoy your personal videos so much.

Y'all are braver than I was, one of the first questions I would ask when calling to set up an appointment was if I would be allowed back with my baby. If the answer was no, I said goodbye and called another doctor. I never allowed them to keep me away from my babies outside of actual surgery. I was blessed to always find a doctor who understood and honored that.

I've had two kids with tongue ties/ lip ties. Tongue ties are genetic. My kids, my husband and his mom have all had them. My 2nd son had his clipped at a rural drs office but it didn't really help because it was too conservative. After receiving a failure to thrive diagnosis, I researched and found a pediatric dentist who diagnosed my kiddo with still the most severe tongue and lip tie. They lasered both and I still remember hearing the snap when they lasered his lip😔. My daughter had her clipped at 7 days by our ENT and it went great!

Congratulations!!! My son (2nd baby) had his lasered and I was amazed! He was upset but never bled and we did Tylenol for a few days but he was fine and nursing was MUCH less painful!

My youngest had the worst tongue and upper lip tie. We got it lasered on day 3. It was a game changer for breastfeeding. Make sure you do the recommended oral stretches or it can reattach and you might have to get it re done. Laser is the way to go!!
