Emilie is more like Navia but a sub dps. And she is really good wherever she works, like furina-level good. A Wriothesley burnmelt team with her outputs the same damage as furina ones. So u can now free furina for the other side.@@quietguyjosh4643

Kokomi Furina Taser actually clears pretty well. Despite neuvillete being a chad, he still doesn't feel mandatory.

I cleared it with mono hydro Kokomi since its pretty much brain dead to play. First half obviously Clorinde. Neuvilette is not necessary.

I couldn't clear in time with Clorinde quicken, so I just went Rational first half and Clorinde Furina taser second half and managed to clear haha This abyss was a pain for my trial ahh builds

I have neuvilette but i found more comfortable to clear with monohydro (furina, yelan, xingqiu, jean). Maybe it's skill issue but his hydro application didn't feel enough

@@EdenVix because it isn't. Each CA applies Hydro thrice, and you also have the windup time. Bonus points for being in AoE though, but mono hydro has over triple the application rate.

Speaking of the consecrated beats pushing you around and being super annoying I would LOVE a future geo characters with a construct that makes you an immovable by outside influence while within it's range. Imagine being able to get into the ideal positioning so you dont get griefed by the auto targetting, an then NOT getting pushed around during burst I-frames out of your intended position.

i don’t think it’s tension necessarily. it’s just jstern’s humor and the way he talks. he has a much more forward/confrontational way of speaking that i think is a bit more difficult for people to engage with

Cool collab. I really enjoyed the discussion. 23:55 There's definitely something to be said about Genshin taking some ideas from Honkai Star Rail concerning weapons and constellations. Acheron in HSR is the most egregious example, as her Light Cone and 2nd Eidolon are absolutely game changing for her; with her signature LC and E2, she feels like a complete and versatile character. HSR devs are probably noticing that a large majority of people are pulling for early Eidolons and their signature Light Cones, instead of just the whales going for them. The trend continues with Firefly's E2 as well. Wouldn't be surprised if Genshin starts to do more extreme early constellations, similar to HSR. All the same, they have done something similar, to lesser dramatic effect, in the past: Hu Tao's C1 helping with stamina, Yelan's C1 helping with energy issues, Raiden's C2, etc. Hoyo devs are definitely trying to see what they can get away with.

The theatre isn't just teambuilding restriction, it's the randomness of it forcing you to put a character to the trash after 2 uses, it makes the team building almost nonexistent since you don't have much choice on the characters you get

Can't say I'm terribly surprised they built it that way, though. Abyss can still often be conquered through f2p vertical investment, decent strategy, and solid skill (though that all is a bit less true than it used to be) They wanted an endgame option that more strongly incentivized a wide roster to keep people hitting the gacha... so this is what we got Just fine for longtime players who already have wide built rosters; we're fine. Pretty lame for the newer players who don't wanna spend I'm sure we'll find the more optimal ways for newer f2ps to handle it, though, even if it starts out scuffed

Anyway on the newer player comment it's not like we could do abyss as new players. It took a long time . Just getting more leveled chars or if they are 5star it takes longer .

Ig its a good thing almost all the new fontaine DPS are quite strong, so even if they dont have BiS teams theyll still do well compared to earlier units without their BiS teams. Neuvillette and Arle dont need optimal teams to crush abyss so ig it wont be a theatre issue heh

I just like how Neuvilette, Wrio, Arle and Clorinde doesn't care about bursts. They help, but they're not needed which is the opposite of hyperbloom and national where you rely on Xiangling and Xingqiu/Yelan's burst.

@@DaiPai1777 he doesn't 100% need it as you have your E compare to someone like Xiangling or Cyno or Raiden that are almost useless without their burst. And yeah, you could just full charge your CA if you don't have energy, it doesn't completely kill his damage unlike the ones I previously mentioned.

12:29 I feel like even now burning self dmg is not really that much of an issue as people are making it to be. You are getting one shotted because you are trying to get one shotted for the memes. In practice, it's really easy to stay out of the burning range and be safe, just need to be careful a little bit. Also, big enemies don't burn you, only small enemies like hilichurls and humanoids. I have been running Nahida Xiangling Kazuha Dehya all this time without any problem.

50:27 True, like it's "fun" farming for echoes on the overworld but we all know that the real grind is on tacet fields 2 different currencies. We can only meld our extra echoes but not use them as exp fodder + we need a totally different currency to roll on substats.

Neuvillette is to 4.x what hyperbloom was to 3.x. Can't clear? Turn your brain off, close your eyes, put Neuvillette on the field and let the magic happen.

No, burst lasts 2.8 segs and at the end it spawns a level 1 skill (the one that does no damage)

older units dont have the "trigger/do x or get half of ur kit disabled". for example, hu tao talents never state she needs to trigger vape but somehow ppl know her best team is vape bc they know how vape works and if they dont hu tao dmg plunges (as well as xiangling). or like ayaka has to freeze enemies to burst on the other hand, emilie and nilou are... restrictive, forced and boring af bc of this "minigame" being implemented in their kits. this trend needs to be stopped. let players figure it out themselves they are way smarter than that

To be fair Emilie has no reason to exist other than to fill a more niche role. If she were a more generalist dendro off-fielder she'd have to compete in an already very saturated space. Yaoyao and Baizhu already fit the sustain off-fielder roles and DMC and Nahida are the damage/support oriented off-fielders. Having her fill a niche role is fine since everything else has already been filled and while I agree Nilou's restrictions feel forced in hindsight she didn't to do anything else imho. Its a more boring way to design characters but they aren't really a trend, there's only like 3 characters with kit restrictions and thats it (Nilou, Chevreuse, Emilie). Theyre meant to fill niche roles so they dont intrude into niches that are already filled by other characters.

@@freshlymemed5680 arguably, emilie is the first dendro to care about raw dendro dmg while most (if not all) of her peers are quicken dependent. i think her chance of being overlapping with other off-fielders is slim. they already gave her poor app but high multipliers to make sure she isnt a quicken addict. it was this close 🤏 to have an interesting kit but they decided to give her a nilou treatment. imo, theyve been lazy lately and thats all i have to say

Thats mostly because vape is much stronger than other reactions so if u have a "default" general pyro, they will ALWAYS become vape and there is NEVER a time when lesser reactions become picked at least from a meta sense. Without restrictions, it will just ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS be vape. (Restrictions are needed to stop that kind of defaulting.)🎉

@@lostblueboy Tighnari was very skippable for me. I played him once I lost a 50/50 on him, but I wasnt that interested in him on release. I pulled Lyney, but only because I lost my 50/50 in 3.8 for wanderer, otherwise i probably wouldve skipped him.

power creep is a myth in genshin. I can still solo abyss with my c1 ganyu on one side in less than 90 seconds.

That’s very much false, maybe at f2p investment level but even a little vertical investment goes a long way now. You just straight up get way more out of getting c1r1 arlecchino than a c2r1 yoimiya/hutao.

that is a lie, if i have ever seen it. can u still defeat one side of the abyss with a ganyu team, oh yeah, hell you can beat it with 4 stars only teams too. But no way you are soloing it with a ganyu, esp just c1 ganyu. The only units who can maybeeee solo abyss are probs low con neuvillete, arlechinno, and then c6 everyone.

@@nikumilotic1333 .....i wouldnt call around 60 percent better than f2p options, a "broken but not necessary" weapon. Basically for emilie, either get her and her weapon only if you like her enough to use her in a few teams where she is barely an upgrade, and only in single target. Or....dont get her at all, esp without the weapon.

It sucks how much Neuvy is so good because I do NOT enjoy his gameplay lmaoooo. I love movement in characters (Plunge Kazuha ftw) or single smashing hits (Hu Tao or Itto) but Neuvillette being just "press button to go brr" im just zzzzzzzz

It's sad when his ability to "kite" enemies is actually quite fun, but all we can do when kitting is just hold down 1 button. If I could design a character, I would combine Neuv's kitting ability with the Clorinde/Cyno combo, while kitting is taking place we have to keep actively pressing clicks and skills to create a combo.

Well, I was warning people around Nuivellette's beta saying that he was way too strong and he needed a nerf but, it seems like people only like to complain about a character when they are weak, not when they are too strong. Now all the hard content is going to be balanced around Nuivellette and the people who don't have him will maybe not be able to clear the abyss or the people who have him will be locked on using only Nuivellette teams to clear the abyss. This is kinda the community's fault too.

How is Arlecchino easier than Neuvillette?? She can't heal while he constantly heals himself, and she basically needs grouping for her AOE to be consistent while for Neuv grouping is just optional lol
