If anyone has any doubts that that is Zakk Wylde, you're insane. You can tell by the style and technique. Easily. Rock on, Zakk. Also, Zakk replaced Jake Lee, not Randy, for those who have forgotten.

@@Squishysforbreakfast It wouldn't even matter honestly if you played 12 hours a day. Some people just are born with a gift and things like this come natural to them. I've played guitar a lot more over the last 30 years in total than Zakk's played in 5 years 12 hours a day and he was still better than me at 20 than i am now.
@RafaelCDet
@RafaelCDet Жыл бұрын
@@AchillesWrath1 it's not about how much you practice but how you practice, my man. you can play 8 hours a day but if you're not constantly challenging yourself to play harder stuff you're not gonna improve as much as someone who studies 1 hour a day but makes it count. Zakk not only played 12 hours a day but he was also learning stuff by John Mclaughlin, Frank Marino, Al Di Meola etc. instead of just playing Back in Black for the 5th time in a row.

Hard work and how you apply it in your approach to the instrument is definitely a huge factor but it's not everything. It's a fact that some people are just born with a natural talent that most people don't have or just never find what they may be extremely good at. Prodigy's exist. I remember Alex Van Halen talking about how he and his brother started out on opposite instruments. After Eddie did the whole piano thing and winning contests without even knowing how to read music he took up the drums while his brother played the guitar. It became real obvious real quick that Eddie was just the better guitar player naturally. Supposedly Dimebag took an entire summer and stayed in his bedroom the whole time playing his guitar. He comes out and is already better than a lot of people twice his age, winning competitions after a few years of playing where they ended up banning him so he became a judge instead. Gary Moore was another that it became obvious after only a few years of playing that he was born for this. It's the people that are already naturally gifted who put in a lot of work into their craft that becomes exceptional. I think determination, motivation to be the best you can be and having the sense to know how and what to practice is in a way a talent in itself. Not everyone is wired that way. Some people just have a knack to be doing what they're doing on a professional level.

What actually impressed me the most here was the classical part, that was insanely impressive. So amazing how all of Ozzy's guitarists were unique in their own way. Everyone who watched this video and are saying this isn't Zakk well first of all if any of us got famous like Zakk we would change our sound because of all the new amps, pedal boards, racks and etc. but you can clearly understand that this is Zakk from the technique, scales and many more things like that. Also Zakk does play classical music and he actually is really good at that aswell. But after all everyone has their own opinion and idea also if you like/love Zakk comment but if you're just going to post comments only writing hateful things don't bother. Thanks again! Keep rocking and Bleed Black Label! Face your fear, accept your war, destroy and conquer!

Randy was a phenomenal player and composer, a true visionary. With that being said; Jake E Lee was a fucking monster and his style, phrasing and articulation set him apart from really any other player that ever lived. You can hear Jake's influences in his playing, but Jake did it like no one else. Trying to learn his material (correctly) was definitely some of the hardest stuff I ever learned to play, and frankly I never did get the majority of it right. Again, I love Randy and I wish he was still with us because he was a gifted musician. However, Jake could be one of the most underrated and under appreciated guitarists that ever lived, so I guess the title of "Greatest" is really a matter of opinion. That's just my two cents...

In the UK Rock magazine Kerrang had a free Miracle Man 7 inch single stuck to the front , i loved it then went out and bought No Rest for the Wicked. I have to say Randy was my favourite though, followed by Jake then Zakk....but this is very interesting to hear. Zakk had a really good ear for classical, but then he was a huge fan of Randy. Shame that classical influence didn't translate into his playing with Ozzy.

Ok, For those saying B.S. About this NOT being Zakk, I was sceptical at first that this was Zakk as well, until I heard Him playing Randy's solos, if you listen to the way he plays, it is DEFINITELY Zakk. Zakk has seiad several different times in several different interviews that Randy was a major influence in his playing style and that prompted him to learn how to play classical guitar. Hendricks was a huge influence as well. But, my point is you can hear Zakk's "spin" on Randy's solos.

Zakk Wylde story is a Rock and vairy tale. He was only 18 when first picked up a guitar and a year later tried out for Ozzy and boom Zakk Wylde was Ozzy's guitarist from that day he became famous

You are forgetting context. This was mid 80's. He was a kid and the bar was set with Randy. This does sound like it could be him but of course I don't know for sure.

John Bruder Zakk didn't come in till the late '80s. Ultimate Sin was from '86 I believe, with master Jake E Lee.

Yes. No Rest For The Wicked was 88. Figure a year of recording before that. And obviously this would be recorded before that. Maybe 86?

John Bruder Wrong. Zakk didn't addition till '87. The first album was released in Sept of 88 with Zakk. Recording music isn't a lengthy process necessarily. Nirvana Nevermind was recorded in 16 days.

It is him, I don't know why people are doubting it...this was released as a bonus feature on a BLS dvd, I own it. Not hard to do research.

Surprised that no one has mentioned the Yngwie influence, who was huge at that time. You can hear it on a few of the runs he does at the start.

dropping Jake E Lee was a big mistake, Ozzy. This boy is very good for country music, but Jake - he is a true heavy rock composer and player.

+Krabowitz -- Maybe, but his ego, god-complex and stubborn inflexibility to the other band members ideas, especially Ozzy's was what got him kicked out. It was his own fault. Watch videos of him today...he's still an ass with an "I'm better than anyone else" attitude. No way to make anything work in a band with an attitude like that...been there and done that in my younger years when I was an up and coming aspiring guitarist in the band scene...lol.

Dude, when he joined Ozzy they physically MADE him change his sound, they gave him new amps and amps, you clearly have no clue of what your talking about, since all of his usual techniques are in this video, THIS is what he USED to sound like before they made him change his sound. This is definately Zakk.....

Some of the stuff being played in this video is NOT his demo tape. There is a documentary from the 90's when Ozzy is taking a break, and Zakk is showing off some stuff he's thinking of doing with Pride & Glory. While there are interview questions being asked and answered, Zakk is playing some of his stuff, and that is what I hear in this video in portions. Some of this does sound like a demo from him, but I seriously question the source for all the material being presented here.
