So many guitar players endorsed by Gibson who have an Epiphone version of their guitars but only touch them to have their picture taken for advertising purposes, but Zakk actually shreds with it! I have even seen playing Epi's live! He is the real deal!

I got this guitar 5 years ago. Im not a professional and I definitely dont play this kind of music but I like this guitar alot. although its VERY heavy, got a slack joint and lost the gold color on some metal parts after 2 years of purchase. but it looks fucking awesome and i like the sound (through my very cheap golden tone amp). oh and it got me laid one time after I played canon rock for a girl ;)

I love those Epi's. I have a Gibson Les Paul standard and an Epiphone plus top pro. It's hard to tell which one was 2,000$ and which one was under 600$.....

I've said it before and i'll say it again - not many people hold onto notes with vibrato before - this adds soul to the music more than any other technique. Zakk proves you can use this style within the heavy metal genre. I've seen so many Uni grad guitarists who are note perfect with their theory, but because they have no soul when they play it sounds computer generated and heartless. Its a shame, but vibrato infused lead guitar is dieing out.

@TheOzzk Pedals have the input on the right and the output on the left (as if you are looking at them) (which on this video because we are at the other side of the Pedals input is on left and output on the right) it appears as though the Overdrive is ahead of the Chorus, not after. However you cant see enough of it to see exactly how all them cables are running, AND live Zakk runs his pedalboard direct into the face of his amp, not effects loop WHICH would yes indeed put Chorus before the O/D.

Zakks Wah technique is a much discussed point. I dont profess to be correct but I have heard he pretty much leaves it on full time and then uses it to accent certain notes and especially his harmonics. His signature wah has an adjustable tension on it so it will basically stay put in what ever position you leave it at

The blue one is Boss CH-1Super Chorus and the yeallow one is Boss SD-1 Super Overdrive. The gibson and epiphone have diffrent kind of 'head'. Epiphone head is rounded, and in Gibson is the oposite(I don't know word in english:D). You can simply put in google 'zakk wylde gear' and in 'guitargeek' you will see everything:)

it's auto flanging. Some guys call it a harmonic slide. Eddie Van Halen does it on "Somebody Get Me a Doctor". His right hand - not the pick - is sliding up the string as his left hand hammers on/pulls off the the 2nd and 4th frets of whatever string he chooses. Very easy to do. Very fun to do!

@Ps3capt The Bullseye Pattern on His Guitars was originally meant to be more like the spiral pattern from the cover of the old Movie Vertigo. It ended up being painted wrong but Zakk liked it anyway and stuck with it. The reason he had it done was to distinguish himself (white les paul) from being a Randy Rhoads clone

Secret for ya dude. Out of all them Marshall cabs Zakk has behind him when he plays live. I think its about 8 of them each side of the stage. There are actually only the bottom row that are plugged in. The top row are just there for looks. This is Fact. Both Zakk and Nick have said this in Interviews. "No way ya could have all them cabs running, especially with the top row. It would take your head off"

They don't. I've tried all types of active EMGs. The bottom line is that the Actives are just going to give you more "bite" and you'll be handcuffed to a battery. If you're into that really sharp aggressive overly distorted distortion, then the actives are good for you. I'd say, if you're trying to decide on which ones to buy, get the Seymour Duncan SH-4 and SH-2n (versatility and distortion) or the Duncan Distortions for distortion. I hope this helped!

I do. There are many people who will say you cant but remember that Eric Clapton used Lea Pauls before he started using Strats. Use the Neck pickup with the tone all the way up and add a bit off O/D Im sure you will get a blues tone you like out of that.

I wouldn't go so far as saying he plays REALLY technical stuff. He's a legend in his own right, but I have been to so many guitar workshops and have seen players who get very little attention but can improvise a solo better than most famous lead guitarists can compose. I like Zak's playing a lot, but he covers his mistakes with a wide range of effects and compressors, rather than practicing. Look up "Technical Difficulties" by Paul Gilbert if you have never heard him before, you'll like it.
