This is a masterpiece as it hits all bases as Gen 5 has some futuristic sounding instruments of all 9 gens while being a past gen. As this is produced some time ago recently with a past motif for a hypothetical Pokemon character of a future Pokémon game, it slaps!

If Pokemon Legends Kyurem becomes reality, I don't imagine a feudal Japanese context again, but a medieval one. It matches the Unova lore better. Anyway, this piece rocks.

Given that PLA was set more around the Meiji period, I'd expect maybe late 1700's to mid 1800's, maybe alluding to the westward push in the Americas, or during the industrial revolution. Not sure if it would work set earlier than that without a vast departure from the human timeline in NA; unless they wanted to set it in early colonial times, or have it be just a vast wilderness with only native villages, and possibly have something like the galaxy expedition company as one of the first Galar/Kalos group to reach the shores of a far-off early unova. A PLA type game set in Galar though? 100% either the middle ages, or even maybe bronze/iron age, or neolithic times. By the looks of the lore in Galar, Eternatus probably showed up around the Neolithic, so it would make sense to set it then, and see what Zacian and Zamazenta were like when they first clashed with Eternatus.

I'm not sure a super super old >500 yrs etc theme could work for unova if they're gonna go with regional flavor unless they went a more indigenous American route. Which I don't see happening (would be awesome if done respectfully). An 1800s theme IMO would blend the "new america" and some European (galar, kalos etc) themes nicely and still look old-timey enough. just an idea lol

This theme makes me imagine the context of the battle is where we're trying to help Colton who (similar to Volo) lets his curiosity get the better of him and starts getting reckless with how he goes about learning what he "needs" to know. Although unlike Volo, he *will* see the error of his ways in the end.

So hear me out. My idea for the plot of this character. He is actually a Faller and actually shows up in the Ancient Unova Region at the exact same time as us. He wakes up and is found on the opposite side of the Region. With us in the location that would become Nuvema Town and Colton in what would become Aspertia City. This further emphasizes and builds upon the whole duality aspect of Gen 5 and mirrored philosophies. With you the player and Colton both having the same goals and desires but the way you want to go about doing them is the complete polar opposite. This is similar to the story with N in Black and White. But along the story it's revealed that Colton is actually even further from the future of Unova then you and is actually Colress's son. And the reason why he thinks he's here is to stop you from creating the ruined future that he hails from. A Unova from the distant future where Humans and Pokémon are forced to live separately and anyone caught alongside a Pokémon is taken away by a future evil team that while stemmed from the remnants of Neo Team Plasma is far worse and actually successful in achieving a totalitarian vision of the Unova Region where only they are allowed to wield Pokémon and they've even gone as far sending Agents back in time to track Colton down who was working cron the inside to stop the creation of this evil syndicate and prevent the dark future world that he's from and that people and Pokémon can once again live freely and together instead of regressing even further past the point of relationships between humans and Pokémon in the ancient Unova Region. As a further enhanced feature similar to Ultra space in the Alola games, completing different events in the story will eventually transport you back and forth skipping through Unova's history unity ultimately are able to make it back to your own time. This is all just rough sketch kind of ideas but I feel like the potential to tell a truly emotional tear-jerker and journey of a lifetime with a story like this is tremendous and is definitely there just waiting to happen. This would be Pokémon Black AND White 3. Along with 0. 0 . . . There could be something there as well if you get what I'm implying here. . . . "Lockstin/Gnoggin insane conspiracy theorist voice " It all comes together.

In fact, the ''Research'' aspect is *exactly what Scarlet & Violet were exploring to great effect* in their Story and actually let you catch amazing Original Pokémon! In fact, what even is Colress's Signature Pokémon, a Metagross? (That's Steven's btw) A Magnezone?? His 1 perk is his amazing Original theme tune (not this 'remix'.)

if a legends Kyruem game happens. I wonder if the ancestor of Ghestis and N will be more like N or more like Ghestis. i feel that the former would appease fans, but the latter would also be interesting. In that same vein i wonder if the warfare would even be shown as the lore for gen V is pretty dark, with a violent war between two brothers nations who had access to the two legendary dragons.

Yeah, especially considering how Reshiram and Zekrom's dex entries mention razing kingdoms that either are built on lies (iirc, played White/White 2 but been a while) or not following their ideals. And according to PokeMas, Ghetsis and N aren't blood relatives- although that I wonder if Ghetsis just didn't want to admit the boy with a Pokémon's heart was truly his or it was easier to use N if he convinced himself he adopted him. I'd say best scenario is both- Ghetsis perhaps as the tyrannical king, and N the puppet prince who ultimately defeats his father.

I'm inclined to say neither, given how Ghetsis is N's adoptive father. Ghetsis is also heavily implied to be a descendant of the ancient Unovan king and by extension one of the twin heroes.

@thepotatoportal69 it's stated he split due to 2 princes/brothers with conflicting ideals/truths. I think it was implied they were friends with Kyruem (or Unova, as I call the fully fused form) and it couldn't bear to pick a side, so instead split. But the Pokedex entry for Kyruem changes between BW and BW2, so it's possible both are true- that the split was a 1000 years ago due to warring princes

Given that PL: Kyurem would likely take place in a more Colonial US (Thirteen Colonies) setting, Colton works (it would be a nice nod if he had a Klefki to reference Benjamin Franklin's Electricity thing)

The clans names could be, Vast Ideals and the Deep Truths a reference to Reshiram and Zekrom being the vast white Pokémon and the deep black Pokémon. Columb would like Volo did take you on in order too see whos ideals and truths come out on top with a nornal boss battle followed by a super boss battle depending on which clan you followed with it would be zekrom they have or reshiram and once fainted it would in turn activate the DNA codex which would turn it into either kyurem black or kyurem white.

Honestly, Legends Arceus was cool as a 1-off but I really hope they don't ditch Pokémon Abilities in a new version or I'll simply skip it. Mid, without Abilities. PLA was far too easy, just chucking balls at everything, most of them caught in 1 attempt lol! Got 2 Lv40 Pokémon without even gaining my 2nd research Star like, wha?! Game basically spedran already?? At least in Scarlet/Violet I have to be good enough to battle them, and honestly, not easy when you have barely Lv15 Pokémon!
