I've always wanted to catch a Zander. We used to call them Perch - Pike as kids. Until now, I've never been in an area where Zander can be targeted. So, with a bit (awful lot) of help and advice from a good friend, I was put onto a location that would prove fruitful.
I hope you enjoy watching the hunt for my very first Zander. Those anglers with access to Zander waters may see my fish a small specimen. To me it was huge, as big as the smile on my face. I really like these fish, I'll be taking every opportunity to fish for them again in the future. Watch the video and see what you think.

Mate, I go out zander fishing 3,4 times a week and i can tell you that that zed you caught was a more than decent one!! Well done you!! Take care and tight lines!

Can't believe I got to my age without catching one of these fine fish. They reside quite a distance from where I live but I do intend to target them again soon. Phil.

Nice first Zander, and on a sea bait too. Bigger than my first. Off to the fens this winter. Mainly piking, but will have a go for zander

Thanks carpypete. I wasn't really expecting to get such a good sized Zander on my first attempt. I was extremely lucky and had been given some top advice by local anglers. I really want to target Zanders again this winter. Tight lines in the Fens piking. Phil

Well done. I'd be over the moon with that fish. Like you it's a fish I've always wanted to catch, but live about 400 miles from the nearest water. Really need to give them a go the next time we're down south.
