The circus 🎪 means a lot to Dick. And as mentioned before in the previous comment, Jack Haley is the closest thing to family he has. And he’s like a grandfather to Dick.

“…retreats to this place every few years” The more I rewatch this scene, the more I think Dick returns to Haly’s every time he needs to process trauma/grief. He’s there after Conner’s perceived death. And every few years also fits him being there after Wally’s and Jason’s deaths.

That’s a good point actually! I think Haley’s Circus is Dick’s mental health retreat. Obviously he loves his friends and of course the Bat Family, but sometimes we all just need a place to get away to just for ourselves alone. A safe/happy place to just decompress and do whatever it is that we love doing and that makes us come alive again. A place that makes us forget about the weight of the world on our shoulders, if only for a little bit.

I love this version of nightwing. He’s the best version and a believable right hand man to the big bad bat that is likely to take up his mantle one day. Unlike his new 52 movie counterparts where they favor Damian.

what makes this Nightwing so great though is that he isn't interested in BEING batman, or taking up the mantle whatsoever. they explored this in the first season and it was a good resolution to that part of his character; the one that strived to be like Bruce from a young age, to BE batman, but instead, he came into his own as Nightwing apart from the weight of the Batman mantle.

@@dumbowe yea even if he doesn’t want the mantle there isn’t anyone more perfect to fill it. That’s always been dicks thing. He wants to be out of Bruce’s shadow and be his own hero and Bruce understands this and even supports it because he knows that nightwing is his reflection but a better one.

Zatanna is a weird one. Her age fluctuated so much but she is most often seen as part of the same generation as Superman and the JL. Zatanna and Batman actually had feelings for each other. So to me this is weird

Good to see these two together considering the most we saw of them both in the same room as one another after season one was for only a very brief moment in the first episode of the second season. KF definitely has to be alive. They had him in the same color scheme as SB in the phantom zone like Zod and company. Everyone SB saw while in the phantom zone that was "normal" was an illusion of his mind. So there has to be a plain of existence like the Speedforce that KF is able to traverse.

I know Nightwing and Zatanna said the same words Saturn Girl and Chameleon Boy to Superman as a subtle way to let him know that they know about Saturn Girl and Chameleon Boy, but I think I would have preferred if the exchange played into Dick and Clark’s more amicable and friendly relationship they have in the comics. Have it go like: _Dick and Zatanna walk into Bibbo’s Diner_ *Dick:* “Hey, Clark.” *Clark:* “Dick! Zatanna! It’s good to see you two.” _Clark is smiling but then drops his smile when he comes to a realisation that they’re here on superhero business_ *Clark:* “What brings the two of you to Metropolis? Do you need my help with something?” *Zatanna:* “Yeah. Back in May, you were approached by two people asking for Superman’s help, right?” *Clark:* “You know about that?” *Dick:* “Yeah. The thing is, Kid Flash has gone missing and he was last seen with those two.” *Clark:* “That’s terrible news.” *Dick:* “Yeah. From what I could tell, Bart’s completely disappeared. And I believe he went off planet. And, Bart disappearing off planet…it reminded me of what happened to Connor.” _Clark looks at straight at Dick with a shocked expression and then looks down_ *Dick:* “Clark…Did those two have some connection to Connor?”

Honestly I like Nightwing and Zatanna as a couple more than Barbarra, batman the animated series left a bitter taste in my mouth. Besides in season 1 their interactions where much better and feel-good then Barbara and Dick in season 3

His eye color isn’t changing. We actually never saw Dick’s real eyes in Season 2. He was was always wearing the teams standard contacts. He has blue contacts. This season we see him without any gear whatsoever to start out with so hence, normal eyes. I don’t remember his S1 eye color though.

Hopefully maybe next season they get back together. Someone said that he & barbara probably broke up since he didn't call her for help or went to the apartment. So that gives me hope & I'm holding on to that. Cause in this universe Chalant makes more sense. Plus I'm sure when they dated, their relationship was a healthy one. Unlike dickbabs who seems a bit toxic imo.

I actually like the idea that Dick returns to Haley Circus as Dan Danger, showing the acrobatic life is still alive in him and honoring his family. Also the season one episode where he and the others perform as the Daring Dangers is one of my favorites. Also, I’m really curious about what happened between Dick and Zatanna.

Don't get me wrong, I love Barbara, but in pretty much every universe she gets trumped by other choices for Dick. In most cases it's Starfire but in the YJ universe Zatanna and Dick definitely deserve each other. She's a 10/10 competing against two 11/10s

Agree. I find Barbara boring compared to Starfire and Zatanna tbh. Nightwing and Barbara are better off as siblings or friends in the Batfamily. Their relationship becomes bland and forced when writers turn them into lovers.
