I believe this is now a traditional katana hilt is attached to the blade. Just one peg ( sometimes two) through the full tang.
Tight fitting wooden peg, bamboo most likely. Easy to disassemble and service/oil inside the handle.
This blade has a decent thickness and good tang. I like the well shaped blade tip - Kissaki styled I believe, Kamasu.
By the way,
In one of the episodes Zatoichi disassembled the sword, cleaned the hilt and tang with sake then assembled it back similarly…

How did you make the blade fit into wooden hilt piece. Did you glued the half pieces and finished them to one or what technique you have used. Please guide brother

You are correct. I used oak boards 0.5x 2" from Home Depot. Outlined the blade and tang on them. Roughed up the surface for glue. Chiseled out the outline, constantly clamping the halves together and checking: the blade - snug smooth fit, and the tang and brass habaki- a bit more tight fit. Then glued. With the blade inside so the glue is not squized inside. Then shaped outside.

NO, actually I bought an inexpensive 'ninja sword' online and used it's straight 'chokuto' style blade and discarded the furnishings. Thanks

@@papennypincher7287 there are Hanwei ninja swords , in $200-500 range. Solid carbon blade, but differentially tempered via clay. I don,t intend to cut nails with it or shave myself. It was sufficient quality blade for not much money. I wanted to learn the art of dressing the sword blade in shirasaya method- just wooded furnishing and it would be a cane sword- shikomizue.

@@STEINBVG Но я в восторге от идеи такой компановки этого ножа. Четыре детали (не считая трёх деталей ножен) сопряжённые с высокой точностью это предел совершенства.

@@user-bw5op6eh9q Спасибо. Это трибут очень культовому фильму «Затоичи»- у него был очень похожий меч-трость( он слепой масажист+ якуза) . А в Японии периода Эдо простые люди не могли носить меча - посему прятали. Прямой клинок( стиль чокуто) труднее сделать чем согнутую катану( односторонняя закалка гнет лезвие) Одев клинок в дерево( ширасайа- деревянный оклад для хранения) и доработав он становится тростью-мечом( шикомизуе).
