The Prado Museum in Madrid houses one of Waldemar's favourite paintings of all time. Van der Weyden's use of colour and realism in The Descent from the Cross gives it an emotional power that was revolutionary for its time, and is a must-see for all art lovers.

Seems impossible that a human in the 1400's could produce this level of realism. Simply astonishing.

Are you sure that that is impossible this is the t dutch renaissance they pay attention to the smallest detail i guess it is to complicated for your simple mind

I have seen many master pieces in person but this one, by far moves me the most,.. seen this video after the first time I saw it, explains accurately why I was deeply moved and in awe, master piece among master pieces.

......not me ! I like Hans Memling's paintings WAY BETTER ☝️☝️☝️... You can see here some lacks in drawing ....I mean the anatomy is not that good.....Roger is not such a huge talent in drawing.....Facial expresion is not good enough...not convinceing....
