DESCRIPTION
The new Zeblaze THOR ULTRA is radically different than the THORs before it. The OS is versos 8.1, a step back from Android 10 in the THOR 6 released in 2020. Missing are any hint of a smartwatch camera or even pairing with a tethering app for syncing biometric and workout data from the watch to a phone. RAM/ROM are reasonable at 2GB/16GB, but the new charging dock (not the typical charging wire with magnetic connector from earlier models) won’t transfer data like before.
NOTE: If you’d like to play with PI, the AI featured in this video, you can find it on any web browser at PI.AI or you can download the iOS or Android app “PIAI” and use the same voice conversation mode you see here. PI is also immediately available on various social media outlets. As you see in today’s video, there’s a complete transcript of both sides of the conversation as well as long as you set up an account with PI. Not really a option now that most are relegated to museums. Only these new Android 8.1 devices are currently available for purchase. You might still be able to pick up the Optimus 2 or Prime 2, but the earlier Zeblaze Android watches aren't in their store anymore.

It's incredible, after so many years Zeblaze still makes a round full Android smartwatch! Furthermore, with a 1.43" display that as soon as you put it in square mode you won't see anything. What a disappointment.

I would so love to double tap and enlarge the screen and scroll around with my finger to read the small print. Might still be do-able in Accessibility settings if we can get to them. Still a lot to explore with this one beyond the simple unboxing.

Hello, my ZEBLAZE THOR ULTRA watch and my Samsung A52 phone are well connected via Bluetooth and are therefore recognized. but I can't receive notifications on my watch, calls or emails I saw somewhere that it's possible. If so, could you give me directions? THANKS

Be aware this watch will not pair with your phone! Manufacture did not disclose that issue on the spec sheet or anywhere else. Spec sheet says Bluetooth compatible! Going back to China!

I bought this but realized it cannot enter developer mode. Touching the build number multiple times has no response. Did zeblaze intentionally disable it for this watch? Because their previous watch from few years ago can enter developer mode. I am disappointed as I bought several zeblaze watches before.

Wow, didn't realize that. I don't often go into Developer Mode myself, so thanks for bringing that to our attention. I wonder if there's a way to enter it in the app Settings Search. Also, you can check with the folks at fullandroidwatch.org to see if they know anything about this.

It's OK, but I actually liked the Android 7.1 watches from a few years ago better. By Android 9 and 10 they were too locked down with Google stuff, but Android 6 and 7.1 hit a sweet spot where Bluetooth calling was possible and everything just worked. Still can't figure how to install custom faces on these A8.1 watches, and I miss that. It was part of the fun. I'm going to lump all these A8.1 watches in a separate Playlist since they are now pretty much the only ones on the market

BTW, this doesn't work with AT&T for phone calls, only texts.

You've tested it or are you asking? Works fine for phone, text and cellular data on T-Mobile, and the both use the same GSM network. If AT&T recognises the watch IMEI, all features should work -- or not.

@@SWT I did test it with AT&T and it didn't work for incoming or outgoing calls, only texts. I don't know if there is anything that can be done in the settings to get it to work.

True. Along with the camera, that's the next thing to loose for folks who want an Android watch for an Android watch and a different rugged health/sports/fitness tracker. Nothing wrong with have more than one watch. Heck, you have two arms! Set a new trend! #twowatchwearer

@@SWT I have used Sleep as Android for a few years now and it works great and it is the full payed version it was pretty cheap and had an in app discount at the time. I wonder how it would go on this watch.

I'll put this one in the same folder with the guys who've been begging for an Android watch with NO CAMERA!!! Finally it's here, but no-go for others. Sigh, it's starting to feel like a unified general theory of everything. We just can't get there with the 'perfect' watch. Actually, since I have a bunch of watches, I'm OK with an Android with no strange camera bumps sticking out. Makes for a better presentation without freaking folks looking at it that I might be recording them.

Well, 4G works, PlayStore works, just no camera on this one. Like I mentioned in another comment, it looks like we are starting all over without the basics, like a camera, water resistance (let alone waterproofing), etc. If this is a Phoenix rising from the crash and burn of the Android smartwatch era pre-Covid, then it's just been birthed as an infant, not powerful successor. Time will tell what comes next, I guess. Still, nice to see Android is still a design concept for watches, even if it's A8.1.
