I got a F-301 in 1989 in the 0.7 mm point and I still have it today I just keep buying the refills and they last forever. I have found that the new gel pens run out of ink very quickly. I tend to press hard when I write and clear plastic pens will tend to get cracks in the tips so metal is better. I like the hard plastic grip much better than the rubber grips on most pens today.

Thank you bro. I ordered some new pens + refills (in the same package) and the refills didn’t fit my older pens. Since the working on the side of my older pens wore off, I didn’t know what size they were. I did realize the new pens were gel though. Thanks to this video, I realize I needed to order the refills for F-301 0.7 mm. Thanks bro. You may have saved me a unneeded order.

the gel pen does actually come in a 0.5mm, I used to use the 0.7mm all the time but I discovered the 0.5 and it has been a game changer! the pen itself also has a more sleek style too

Great video. I have a bunch of the F-301 .7mm but LOVE my new G-301 .7mm Gel! Unfortunately the refills are not interchangeable! So, I can't switch my F-301's to Gel :( The differences between the ink inserts are clearly seen in this video. The standard ballpoint pen has a wide refill with a removal spring on the tip. The Gel pen has a thin refill and the spring mechanism is built into the upper body of the pen. All around great pens. Probably going try the 1.0 or 1.6 standard refills or look for some other gel knock-off that might work PS- they also make an F-301 with silver & pink body and standard black ink for Breast Cancer Awareness month

The BP is my beater/lender-pen, it's nice, but not so nice I wouldn't mind if the person forgot and walked off with it or if I left it at a bank teller window. Same with a Bic Atlantis or a Pentel Wow, but I like the 0.7 Zebra's finer writing, it's good for the too-small boxes on crappy paperwork. It's just cool that there's a $2 pen in stainless at all really.

Thanks for the nice video. I love the Zebra 301, both F&G are among my favorites. There are also 1.0mm refils for the F-301, I've found them the best for my taste. Unfortunately they are not that cheap in Europe. Still reasonable pricing, but not 2-3 bucks as in the US.

Both are great pens. I have a F-301 BP pen and a G-402 GP pen. The F-301 has very thin, light lines even at 0.7 mm. The G-402 has thick bold lines. F-301 is designed for writing - the ink cartridge will last months of daily use. The G-402 is for drawings or for sketches - it runs out of ink much faster. Regardless, the ink cartridges are easy to replace

Be on the look out for new Zebra Sarasa Grand colors: white with different accent colors; and in yellow, red, purple, blue and grey--kinda like gumball colors.

i'm guessing the refils are not interchangeable? I have some of the 301A (which are identical to the F301 but with an aluminium barrel and different barrel colours) I was hoping to convert one to a Gel by just buying gel refils. but not that straightforward. lol

The Uniball Power Tank SJP-10 refill fits the Zebra F-301. It will not be a perfect fit but it works good enough. The Uniball refill is one awesome refill...it works in any temperature, in water, and up side down.

I am looking for a great every day carry, ballpoint, fade resistant ballpoint pen. I am having trouble finding one I can use for everything. I have. G750 which i really like but it goes through refills so quickly.

I've been thinking for a long time in getting this Zebra F-301 variant. I will get this one at Walmart. I need to get the F-701 too.

I use the .7 black gel. I've yet to find a better gel line with equivolent smoothness. Weird that I find it in such a cheap, thin pen. Basically disposable. Wish Zebra made a G2 style insert with the same ink & tip so I could use it in my better pens.

Will the F301 refill fit in the F701? I don't see any other 1.6 mm refills anywhere. Thanks!

You say POINT 7 to describe 0.7mm but then say One DOT Six to describe 1.6mm. Why? Why not say One POINT Six ?
