I've never minded making exceptions for things that are otherwise literally impossible, it's more fun to see minimalist than keeping strict to the rules. I like how you still made those exceptions fit as best you could, too, using items that could be classified as guns in concept when you couldn't use actual guns or gun skills. A solid run, I enjoyed it a lot.

Ironically, Triple Down does more damage and is more accurate than One-Shot Kill, but has a lower crit (and lower variance), but both are two of the best attacks in the game. Also, for those who were wondering, Scathach is pronounced "Skah-hah".

Honestly one of the most satisfying feelings this game gives me is dumping a full clip into an enemy. Followed by the interface overall makes it so interactive love the dynamics

Great work, I remember watching the original video so long ago, it's great to see it was possible as long as you used stun items, the rest of the run was very do-able.

I'll forgive you throwing away Drain Phys over Drain Curse just because this was such a nice redemption of this run, great run and extremely nailbiting at times!

I dunno if you take suggestions, but I think it could be fun to have a challenge that is "Can a bunch of normal kids beat [Insert game, probably P5 Royal]" Basically, play through the game, but you are not allowed to use your persona powers. For added challenge, maybe try and avoid power gaming the passives, resistances and stats, but that's up to you. Anyway, your allowed to use any items you want, any party members you want, any weapons you want, etc. Everything is legal except using your persona.

This run is just "Defeating God with the Power of Friendship.... AND GUNS!"

I fucking hated Okumura's boss fight, and accidentally rage quit when my last save was before I'd finished exploring the palace (and don't my grinding to be at an appropriate level). Luckily I wasn't doing a challenge run, so I used baton passed Akashic Arts to make the entire fight into a joke

Another trick I learned to face the reaper. If you have the Ring of Gluttony equipped to someone in your party, he will only use two skills. Concentrate and Megidolaon. The damage is manageable and it can't do any 1 Mores.

In vanilla P5, you originally could have cheesed the 1v1 with shido by using makarakarn. But in P5R they gave megidoloan to shido so you wouldn’t be able to do that anymore.

Ok as someone who played Persona 5 quite a lot I never knew if the reaper ambushes you that he gets only 1 attack per turn.

This run was super entertaining, good to see you win on the second attempt! Just FYI, based on how Joker pronounces the names I think Scathach is "scaw huck" and Cu Chulainn is "coo coolin"

I've been doing a Phys+Gun+Phys-Almighty run on Merciless (not recorded), plus reflected attacks because Screenments allowed them in his Physical-only attempt. It's probably been easier, but I still have a few things I want to mention: -Grinding in Kamoshida's Palace was TOUGH, at least until I got to the end. -I forgot to get the Riot Police E before entering Madarame's Palace, and this would likely have made the entire thing easier (except Shiki-Ouji, which was the only savage shadow I didn't have the allowable means to beat within the palace it appears in). -I was on the fence in regards to allowing ailments from dedicated spells (as opposed to only allowing ailments from Phys/Gun attacks that have them as secondary effects), but the Arahabaki fight sealed the deal in favor of allowing them (especially considering that I didn't yet have the aforementioned shock gun for potential repeated all-out attacks). -I think Kaneshiro's Palace was mostly smooth for me, aside from possibly a fatal mistake or two I don't remember in detail (unless I'm confusing it with my EXP/Money penalty Merciless run on PC). -In Futaba's Palace, I was thinking that Alilat would be impossible with my rules...but I forgot that it casts Bufudyne, and then I realized I had access to Ice Break and even Makarakarn (itemized Clotho during an alarm) and Retaliating Body (I had/fused a Kin-Ki with this) plus Spotlights to make Joker an easy Bufudyne target. It took a few attempts to get the pattern right, but I beat it eventually. -In Okumura's Palace, I used a similar strategy for taking down savage Girimehkala since it casts Agidyne regularly; however, I only brought one additional party member for this, unlike with Alilat where I brought four. The member of choice was Ann; even though I forgot her Fire Break, her Dormina came in handy for delaying Giri's first Agidyne until I was ready to start reflect it for optimal damage. Unfortunately, after the first one, I forgot to switch back to my auto-buff Persona before the barracks bot fights; this made them rather deadly to everyone who wasn't Joker. I reloaded and switched back after defeating Giri again, and they were so much easier the second time. Plus, slightly better Critical luck. -The Okumura boss fight was surprisingly easy, considering I was going at it with mostly Triple Down and Apt Pupil on two members, plus Revolution for further Criticals. I did bring Makoto and she ended up doing a large amount of damage to one wave with Flash Bomb technicals. -For Sae's Palace, I put it off as long as possible to max the Tower confidant link and get the Hanged one to a high rank. Before I went in, I bought From Heaven and gave it the mega receiver. When I got to the Rangda fight, I used Marakunda, Charge, switched to my Gun Boost+Amp Girimehkala before attacking, used all three of my Down Shots, and then unloaded. I think I had maybe 2 bullets left after that, which I feel was cutting it pretty close even after everything else. -In Shido's Palace, I fused a support-only Trumpeter before leaving, and I finally maxed out the Strength confidant, thus unlocking VIP Treatment. I wasn't initially planning to use it seriously for anything other than alarm accidents, but...my first attempt at the Beast saw only ~1k damage from a full clip. I was bracing myself for the idea of a long grind, but I got the idea to fuse Metatron and trigger another alarm to get Nataraja EX for its power and all-around stat bonus. I spent way too much time customizing builds for Personas I might not even use this time around, and this basically cost me all my money. Over several more alarms (because I didn't get the ideas all at once), I got the Regent R accessory, plus the Auto-Maraku and Auto-Masuku skill cards for my Potent Hypnosis Rakshasa (who I fused with Auto-Mataru after getting an Isis with a gun build from an alarm accident way earlier). -When I next attempted Shido for real, I used all my Charge items in hopeful preparation for the second phase while setting up Joker's piercing gun attack, only to end up needing to recast buffs and debuffs several times. Morgana took a hit that I didn't heal him from at some point, and then...the Beast charged, telegraphing Arm of Destruction. I had everyone except Joker guard, and right after the attack hit...Morgana was suddenly ready to initiate a Showtime, which I had believed was my only was through this phase before setting up the piercing-gun strategy. So I accepted it, and it hit for over 2k damage because of the charge (I don't quite recall if it was the one with Ann or the one with Haru, the latter of whom was also in the party; Haru was also charged, if that did anything). And when Joker unloaded his gun for real, it only ht for maybe 1.1-1.2k, which wasn't as hard as I was hoping...but with the Showtime damage, it was enough to FINALLY push to phase 2! At this point, I pretty much didn't need to worry about losing this fight because everyone was level 60+ and I was pretty well-prepared for everything else. My aforementioned Girimekhala also has Retaliating Body and Makarakarn, which I put to good use in the 1v1 portion of the fight. -Updates to come, as I'm not finished yet. But if I do this run again, I might try it on Hard instead of Merciless.

Haru's vegetables are so good, I regret not investing in them in my first couple playthroughs of Royal. When you 1 shot yourself off that Valkyrie in Sae's Palace, I chuckled because I got reminded of when Yusuke 1 shot himself on my Hard difficulty, Act Freely run. I facepalmed so hard then I laughed at him, especially since Yusuke literally cannot do anything because Aliat repels Phys/Gun and Drains Ice, so he started guarding. Speaking of how annoying Dekaja is, Ann LOVES that skill on Act Freely, almost as bad as Morgana with Pulinpa.
