I hope Zeekr is going to release the updated version of the 001 soon in Europe. Btw, wäre echt cool wenn du den L6 von IM Motors auch so beleuchten könntest. Der schaut nämlich auch nach einem sehr interessanten E-Auto aus.

@Raymaster7482 I hope so too! The updated version of the 001 would be an exciting addition to the European market. Thanks for the suggestion! The L6 from IM Motors is indeed a very interesting EV, which I recently had the chance to see at a sales office. It looks stunning from the outside, and sitting inside was delightful. Interestingly, the L6 has already received approval for the European market and is set to be launched in 2025. A video on the L6 will follow on this channel soon. @@TechplusKiss that's awesome news! 😀. Are they going to release the L6 under the IM brand or under MG? Do you think IM will also sell the Lightyear variant (with the ~130 kWh semi-solid-state battery) here in Europe?

@Raymaster7482 Great question! Currently, the IM L6 is available in five variants, and none of them feature the 133 kWh semi-solid-state battery. The available versions include: L6 Max 标准版 (Standard Version) L6 Max 长续航欧版 (Long Range European Version) L6 Max 长续航版 (Long Range Version) L6 Max 超长续航版 (Ultra Long Range Version) L6 Max 超强性能版 (Ultra High-Performance Version) These variants use lithium-ion batteries, ranging from 75 kWh to 100 kWh, with no official offering of a 133 kWh battery at this time. As for the branding, there has been speculation about the L6 being marketed under the MG brand for the European market due to MG's established reputation, but this is not confirmed yet. @@TechplusKiss thank you for the heads up! Read somewhere that the Lightyear variant will be produced only at a very limited number (a few hundred vehicles). I guess the battery technology isn't quite ready for mass production.

Hi @Raymaster7482, Yes, IM Motors does plan to produce the "Lightyear Max" variant of the L6. This special version will feature innovative semi-solid-state battery technology, offering an impressive range of over 1000 kilometers based on the CLTC standard. This represents a significant advancement in battery technology for electric vehicles, allowing for 400 kilometers of range to be added in just 12 minutes of charging. However, production of the Lightyear Max variant will be limited to only a few hundred vehicles. This is because the semi-solid-state battery technology is still relatively new and in development, making mass production challenging. With acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.74 seconds and a top speed of 268 km/h, the L6 Lightyear Max showcases the impressive capabilities of this new technology. This variant offers an exciting glimpse into the future of electric vehicles and sets a new benchmark in the industry. It will be interesting to see how this technology continues to develop and when it might become available on a larger scale.

Snapdragon Chips MAYBE banned from US ... in 2024 ???

However, there have been recent developments regarding trade restrictions between the US and China. The US has imposed restrictions on the export of certain high-end chips to Chinese companies, particularly targeting Huawei, due to national security concerns. This means that companies like Qualcomm and Intel are restricted from selling specific advanced chips to Huawei and other Chinese firms. On the other hand, China has also taken steps to reduce its dependency on foreign chips, including those from Intel and AMD, by banning their use in government systems and promoting domestic alternatives. These trade tensions and sanctions might have led to the misunderstanding regarding a potential ban on Snapdragon chips within the US. Unless an EV’s battery is swappable at a battery swapping station to provide rapid power replenishment and ensure any visiting EV a safe and good quality battery, if not, any other EV are basically junk after few years of purchase.

Not true. There are already guarantees for 200,000 km on todays batteries and the latest products from BYD or CATL are guaranteed to last for over a million or 2 million km.

If a battery performs well for the first few years, it is likely to have a long lifespan, providing reliable performance over the long term.

Since NIO is heavily invested in CATL, I’m sure they will keep using their newly developed batteries in their cars, which will only make NIO’s cars even better at providing all their EV owners to have a fully charged battery under 3 mins (the 4th gen battery swapping stations now get it done under 2:45 mins) every time they swap their batteries!
