This might be my favorite Zelda. Didn't appreciate it until I was older. Would love to see a sequel in this style.

This is definitely one of those LoZ games you have to come back to. Too much of a change after LoZ 1, but several games have bucked that trend.

I actually prefer 1 and 2. After the nes, I think nintendo went toward a more kid direction. ALTTP is good but the first 2 are darker and have a certain mood to them. Even the Mario games were more directed toward children. The voice sampling got way overbearing

That moment before they collect the raft, where they kill the IronKnuckle, and cast Fairy REAL QUICK before the level up, and then level up their Magic immediately afterwards. CRITICAL.

Shouldn't the run time in the video title be 59:46?
@phalyn18 жыл бұрын
The run time is given to let you know how long to expect. The average viewer is going to watch the race to the end, not stop when the first person crosses the finish line.
@VForceWave8 жыл бұрын
Plus that way it doesn't spoil who wins/the winning time, you'll know who's likely to win when you get closer to 59:46

I was goofing around on an emulator a while back and noticed that what gets dropped, while odds based, is also, dependent on the frame the enemy actually dies on...For example, I made save states before going to kill something I knew would leave a drop, killed it, compared what it dropped to when it died then reloaded the save state, went back and repeated the process...After all was said and done I found that the range of frames concerning what dropped matched the ratio of the odds but what dropped was always dropped on the same part of that range (though the part of the range changed for the next time I was due for a drop from the same enemy type.) I was wondering if anyone who knows more about such things than I do (my understanding is limited) has found anyway to know before actually killing the enemy, which timing would lead to which drop...a pattern to the ranges used (maybe a seed table) etc...?
@AndreasHolmgren858 жыл бұрын
It is frame based wich is not news. But pretty much the only place you can manipulate the the drop is in the first magic cave. But thats still not guaranteed. Thats why they call it random.
@mncdssctn91102 жыл бұрын
There’s no such thing as randomness in these games, it’s all based on a frame count, but a frame is only 1/60 of a second, so controlling it is not really viable for human runners.

The fire spell is the only practical way to defeat tectites and zoras, making the new continent's first town a potentially handy grinding spot. The spell is not useless.
@mncdssctn91103 жыл бұрын
For speedrunners it’s useless since they don’t need to grind.

There is an easier way to beat Links shadow. When you enter the final room crouch at the entrance and stab allow. You will beat him and not take any damage.
