The Deku Trio is a new project from Rob Araujo (Chillhop) and Chris Davidson (GameChops) that elevates video game covers through forward-leaning arrangements for jazz trio.
Highlighting fan favorites like Song of Storms, Zelda’s Lullaby, and Great Fairy Fountain, The Deku Trio's coffeehouse-style reimaginings feature cozy ornamented piano arrangements, interesting reharmonizations, soulful basslines, and delicate drums and percussion. Music composed by Koji Kondo, with arrangements by Rob Araujo, and artwork and character designs by award-winning comic author Riana Dorsey.

You're amazing!! Can you do some Hollow Knight songs please? The thing about the Hollow Knight OST is that it does variations of the same themes across the songs, it's like the songs talked to each other. So I think that musically they work better alongside each other like this video, rather than in isolation

I love how the instruments complement the wielders of the triforce and personality. Ganondorf being player of the bass(power) Link being player of the drums(courage) Zelda being player of the piano(wisdom)

That Gerudo Valley (Reprise) is so fking soulful. Love that it's just piano at the end there, too. So damn lovely. I'd been hoping for a more jazz-oriented release showing up on here sooner than later and I'm so damn content with this one. Here's for hoping we'll get some more from the Deku Trio and any others down the line! Cheers for this one.

The only thing I am not a fan of is the drum grating / white noise for the background. Beyond that, everything is really nice to listen to 👍

Ok, I love this album folks, BUT: Can you please release a version without all the white noise in the background? I never wanted any of your songs changed, but this great album is getting kinda ruined for me with this constant white noise. I would even buy this album again, if there was a version with just the actual Jazz instruments, because these sound great :)

What you're calling white noise I believe is wire jazz drum brush on cymbals or snare drum. Overall great, composition I too would love to hear initial songs without their use, or more minimal use. Gerudo Valley was excellent case where it's used tempo-ly and not just blanketly like in beginning songs and later ones.

@@BARTZ13 I didn't know this was a kind of actual instrument in Jazz, so thank you for the comment! Either way, I find its use here way too strong and it is seriously distracting from all the other great instruments! But hey, everyone has his/her own taste and that is great! Still, I would love a version without this or at least with a toned down use, so everyone can be happy! Because this is an extremely great album and I would love to be able to enjoy it fully! :)

@@JimPTheOne Thank you! At least I am not alone with this opinon :D It's a real shame, 5 out of the 12 songs here do not have this constant and exremely loud white noise and they sound great! But the other 7 songs are just getting ruined by this, it is really sad. Hopefully we can get "clean" sounding versions of the other 7 as well (one can dream)!

Drummer’s gotta cool it with the snare brushes. It’s almost impossible to ruin Sheik’s theme but bro guy tried his hardest. I know jazz is all about interpretation, but if I can’t tell if they’re using a rain effect or radio static effect, or if the drummer oops’d a whole bottle of adderall before recording, someone needs to tell him to chill
