Basic specs:
40mm Case
45mm Lug to Lug
20mm Lug Width
11mm Case Height
200m Water Resistance
Sapphire Crystal on front, rear, and bezel
Swiss ETA 2893 Elaboré Movement
Full specs for the Horizons V2 are available here: zeloswatches.c...
The launch sale ends on June 15, 2020 before the pricing increases, if any are left. For the sold out versions (Frost and both Meteorite), keep an eye out at Zelos authorized dealers, as I believe some were held back during the launch sale.

Great review!! I missed out on the “Frost” version so I purchased the teal model. It literally just arrived a few hours ago, and initial impressions are really good. I did have a question for you about the “Frost” model. Do you find that after awhile the hands “disappear” into the dial? Every line dial I’ve had in the past has been great when initially charged up, however later on into the night, the hands seem to blend into the dial making yelling the time really difficult. I’m thinking that maybe this isn’t an issue on the new “Frost” model since the lume on the hands is different than the dial, but I wanted to ask and get your take on it. Cheers!!

Thanks Damion! I hope you enjoy the Teal! Zelos Teal dials are stunning. With the Frost Mako, the black lume is virtually useless in real application (though it's still a nice touch). When the dial lume has dimmed later in the evening, I do find it marginally harder to read than my traditionally lumed watches (hands/indexes only). With the addition of C3 on the Frost Horizons hands, this effect is reduced. I will say I probably still find a traditional configuration to be more legible to my eye under these conditions. The contrast of light (hands) to dark (dial) seems to help. However, I have no issue reading any of my Zelos watches at any time of the night, so it's mainly just comparing the experience where it stands out.

great review, thank you! I’m still undecided to be honest. I’m just thinking if I’m willing to spend 800$ for a Microbrand. Is it really worth it? Do you actually get good value here or do you pay a premium? I do like the looks a lot though!

Thanks for your feedback and support! Definitely valid questions. I'm personally a pretty big Zelos fan, but it didn't happen overnight. One of the main things that sold me is the phenomenal customer service from the owner, Elshan Tang. He is active on the Zelos Facebook group, responds promptly to email messages, and just generally goes out of his way to take care of his customers. That takes away one of the biggest risks of owning a micro, aftermarket support. They have also been around for 6 years now and are steadily growing. On top of that, the movements are quality work horses (Miyota 9015, NH35, ETA 2892/2893, etc.) but also readily available. In the event the company would go under, any watch maker should be able to service or replace the movement. Regarding value, their watches seem to have a loyal following and in turn to hold their value well. For the specs, I think the value is there at each price point in their lineup. Good luck in your decision!

Wonder if you can buy a flat crystal for this somewhere?
@JonathanTReviews
@JonathanTReviews 3 жыл бұрын
Someone actually asked about that in a Zelos Mod FB group. I don't believe they found a solution. Part of the issue would be maintaining adequate clearance, as the V2 was designed around the high box.

@@PepRex It took some digging but I was able to find the thread I mentioned. Here is what the inquirer shared as a response after it was suggested he check with Elshan (ability to put a V1 crystal in a V2): "I heard back from Elshan. The V1 crystal won't work due to clearance of the hands." The V1 crystal was not flat either (just not as pronounced of a box edge), so I definitely don't think a flat crystal would be possible. If you haven't seen it and are interested in more info about the V2 vs V1 Horizons, I have detailed comparison video in my past videos on here. Cheers

@@JonathanTReviews That's a shame, a flat crystal would have been pretty cool. The frost V2 is definitely the best colour way I Think, I have the blue meteorite. May sell it to fund another zelos, Black tip maybe?

I like the Frost colorway a lot too. The blue meteorite looks great as well. You shouldn't have any trouble selling it, if you decide to let it go. The Blacktip should be a cool new addition!
