Zendaya Reveals What Made Her Fall In Love With Tom Holland
INTRO: Zendaya and Tom Holland are undoubtedly one of the most long-awaited Marvel couple of the decade, and with Zendaya’s famed standards in men, we all wonder, what makes Tom Holland so special?
The two stars first personally met when they were 19, notably on the set of the Spider-Man: Homecoming movie back in 2016. Zendaya played MJ in the film and quickly became one of the media's new favorite Marvel character for her wit and sass, and with Tom Holland playing Peter Parker, the two just couldn't help but form a bond together, first as friends and then as something more. They grew closer and even appeared in each other's Instagram pictures, with the first appearance in Tom's post with the caption "Summer Sunday's" in July 2016, but the post was plainly platonic, especially with their other friend in the pool. The two only started to spark dating rumors in 2017 when a source told PEOPLE “They started seeing each other while they were filming Spider-Man,”, “They’ve been super careful to keep it private and out of the public eye but they’ve gone on vacations with each other and try and spend as much time as possible with one another.”. When the fans found out, they didn't waste another moment and came up with their ship name, "Tomdaya," and it didn't take long for the fans to accept the baseless rumors because Tom and Zendaya were the sort to keep their relationship under wraps. However, they both quickly shut down the rumors on Twitter, and even laughed it off when Zendaya tweeted “Wait wait…my favorite is when it says we go on vacations together HA! I haven’t been on a vacation in years! *Laughing emojis” and she even added “hbu” and tagged co-star Tom Holland, in which he replied “Does the press tour count”.
The two clearly share the same sense of humor with these tweets and was confirmed by an insider saying “They’re both really ambitious and they challenge each other, but most importantly, they make each other crack up. They seem to have a really similar sense of humor and love joking around together. They have great banter back and forth.”. Even while they’re waving off rumors, the world can’t stop shipping the two actors regardless when Zendaya told Variety, “He’s literally one of my best friends. This past how many months, we’ve had to do press tours together. There’s very few people that will understand what that’s like at 20 years old.” But it takes more than just similar sense of humor to lure in the great and beautiful Zendaya, so maybe it was the tremendous amount of time they’ve spent together in the Spider- man press tour, but that was with Jacob Batalon of course.
They may indeed deny the accusations, but they certainly don't act any less than a couple, especially when Tom was seen casually hanging out with Zendaya and her parents! He apparently even charmed her parents, which also may have played a role in Zendaya's feelings given how well he got along with her family and how family-oriented she was. If not that, perhaps it was because Tom Holland made it clear to her and the world that he will always be one of her fan boys. Tom posted a picture of Zendaya at the met gala wearing a metal armor gown with the caption “All hail the queen, Killing it mate”, pretty cute right? But not really something a regular friend would do, hmm. Well, Tom’s caption will make you rethink the butterflies in your stomach because he did say “mate”, obviously telling fans that it was a friendly gesture. But then again, it could also mean soulmate? Or maybe just a platonic soulmate? Well, this definitely won’t be the last time Tom made controversial posts regarding his co-artist because later in 2019, he posted a picture of the golden trio of the Spider-man movie, tagging Zendaya in his crotch?
