yeah, but you can do most of the game with a mismatched team. the team comp bonuses is mostly for people who want to optimize builds or want to see very big dps.

Not all three need to match. You can have two match the element and the third in the same faction as one of the other two. All three characters bonuses are active. That's what I did at the beginning and I wasn't hurting for choices from all the free agents and rolls they gave us.

Dang I never though about this team comp building aspect being awful for f2p players. Not only do you need good, limited 5 star characters, you also now need the correct faction / attribute AND the characters need to work well together. If I had to guess, the team comps in ZZZ will probably be very limited especially at the start of the game. Also the first limited characters that are released for a new faction or element are really going to suck, since there will be no synergy for them. I wonder how they'll tackle that when we get to that point.

Not a problem. There will be endless amounts of chars. Most of the time you need only 2 chars same elem.

I don't really feel like it's the team building but more the fact its hard to get thr charachters, I already have 118 pulls on standard and I got in total with the beginner agents 7 in total and I got like 20 w engines

F2Pish player here. I'm glad to spend on a gacha I'm enjoying, but I'm not spending to maybe make a boring game better. I drew Koleda and have bad options--only a low-damage Ben + Koleda + Billy comp if I want to use my 5 star. Base gameplay is boring and relies on well-designed characters to create complexity--so the game is only fun while playing well-designed 5 stars. Koleda is painfully boring, but I loved playing Grace in the quest and would've enjoyed her much more. I quit after hitting level 28 because base gameplay felt designed for a five-year-old, I couldn't really use my 5-star, I didn't have fun even when I did, and I'd have to reroll my account or grind months to fix things. Not redoing the campaign just so the combat can maybe start getting good.

I mean its not like this is a system unlike most other F2P games. Of course you're going to be at a disadvantage with a smaller range of characters. That's the whole incentive to pull. As a F2P player its all about the grind life, nothings for free after all. If you're not spending money you have to spend time

This is only a problem now, as more 5* and 4* characters get released, it'll be fine. You don't have to go for a Mono Ice team for Ellen, you can place Corin in the last slot and she can benefit from also being from Victoria Household and take advantage of her increased damage on stationary and stunned enemies.

Thing about the mechanic for matching and these S rank characters is for one thing- for F2P players, in order to play F2P successfully, they know it is a marathon not a sprint. They know that it is going to take time with the roster as well as everything else in the game. They will add more characters of the various attributes and factions. Not only that but the signal search banners will give that 50/50 chance just like the other ones, So chances are not that bad as long as you are just consistently playing the game. I come from playing more predatory and unforgiving gacha's like Summoners War, where there is no pity system. These Hoyoverse gacha's are so much more giving to their playerbase. That being said, its not like S-ranks are going to be the only way to build- hoyo always makes lower rarity characters that end up being SS rank once people figure out synergies.

yup this game is just trash. Wuwa has better team building, more f2p and has significantly better combat.
