There's an inherent problem with a pay once live service product. I don't know how zzz will go, it's not out yet, but generally even a pay-once live service game has paid expansions every so often, that or it has a battle pass and microtransactions on top of the game you paid for. The point being that it's hard to find a game that's continually updated that's a fixed price. Uh, I kinda didn't have a big conclusion I'm kinda down on zzz, and I even like other hoyo games, so I'm not expecting much from it.

This comes from a company which has made several games in which the plot revolves around two (very in love, very explicitly gay) women loving eachother. So yeah, I can see where that happens, especially as a writer myself, as I would just ignore men most of the time when writing stories earlier.

@@Kneevirus one more thing because I forgot about this. At the launch of star rail, there were only around 4-5 playable men compared to 12 or so women to add to your party. It will take a while to bridge the gap, but these are the people who wrote hi3, the blisteringly homosexual game in comparison. I am trying to say that it is easy to forget completely about men when writing at certain times. I am not here to argue. If you want an example of male gaze, go look at Nikke. It is, majority of the time, not the same case.

I hate how such a cool concept for a videogame is ruined by being a mobile gacha game. Can you imagine a 3D beat em up rogue like with actual combos and character mechanics besides basic attack, 1 cooldown ability and a super that's just an amped version of the cooldown ability. How about perks and items that actually drastically change the gameplay of a character. Oh wait, that would clutter the touch screen UI and overheat your phone. Having to be playable on a phone holds this kind of game back so much and gacha makes it worse since you're locked out of playing characters unless you pay money and they bloat the story with tedious boring as fuck visual novel ah cutscenes you can't skip so you're more likely to buy a character for simp value, completely destroying the pacing because your watching cutscenes way more than playing the actual game.

After the game released, you could actually skip cutscenes and get the same reward out of them, but the rest of your points still stand lol, especially the characters since most of them are either DPS guy, AOE guy and status effect guy. The worst part is that if they just leaned into the Genshin/Honkai combat system that combines different characters' abilities that would make the swap mechanic way more rewarding than just using it for parries and chasing enemies.

The trick is that they make combat systems just barely good enough so that players can have fun for five but bad enough so that all the buttons still fit onto an Iphone. Also, it helps that 2 out of 4 of their games are RPGs.

One of the reasons why investing into your business is a good idea. In a sponsored video he said that the game stutters and runs bad on his pc. Idk what he was thinking. @@GarbielSorvergin I take it back. There are pale characters and (with the slight exception of xinyan) a sprinkling of lightly tanned folk (and i dont mean that literally). Still not really impressed. Certainly not with a character with supposed (not) Indian heritage being barely brown at all but correct me if I'm wrong. I don't really take "been in the sun for a bit" for brown characters.

Is it just me, or is the combat in this game just way too chaotic? Not like the Suicide Squad game where there's just too much stuff on the screen, but rather the "cinematography" of the combat. The focal point of the camera is constantly buzzing around in and out left and right, even up and down with the height of the characters and how low or high the camera decides to go to be flashy. Sorta hurts my eyes when watching someone play just the combat for a longer period of time.
