They went all the way to Okinawa to learn the most basic Kata, show how important kihon practice is and also show most of those black belts have not nailed the basics yet

Unfortunately I have to say that the majority of the people who are attending these seminars are low level practitioners. 20-30 years ago black belts were more skilled they trained harder understanding the true Spirit of Karate, and in front of a Sensei you should even train harder. Train harder and harder and improve your technique the best you can, no excuses.

Watching these videos I have been quite surprised how low the standards have dropped. It is kind of sad though people are paying so much money and going to Okinawa simply to learn kihon that their sensei back home should have been able to teach them.

Karate is Extremely Static Unlike Kung Fu , Karate acts like a Robot , not Fluidity in Movements . American Kempo Karate is much much better and Fluid .

@@dwddindin ..in any case , these Karate are all Derivative of Kung Fu from Shaolin and also from the Northern Shaolin with a Japanese Mentality ... thanks for the Report ..

Lennox. You know nothing of what you speak. I’ve been in Shorin Ryu Karate since 1969. My teacher is Sensei James H. Coffman. I have been in several Street confrontations and never ended on the ground. I’m also a Vietnam Veteran and a retired Corrections Officer. My Karate save my life many times and o also saved the lives if my brother officers.

KEMPO karate is more slap and tag. I’ve studied the old Shorin Ryu. 54 years now. I’m a retired C. O. Used my system to defend my life inside the walls both inmates went to the outside hospital. 2 separate encounters. I went home at the end of my shift. I know KEMPO Black Belts who were not so lucky.
