Thanks, Luka! I hope one day you can find your own! :D Kienzle sold these clocks as both wall clocks and mantel clocks, but it seems like the mantel clocks show up the most. I've seen some wall clocks as well, but not nearly as much as mantel clocks. It's strange because in the original advertisements for these clocks, the wall clocks are less expensive than the mantel clocks! Kienzle as well as Mauthe decided that the bim-bam chime was outdated, un-German and didn't suit the current Germany. Kienzle was adamant that the German public would favor the clocks with this contemporary chime over bim-bam. Junghans, in response, stuck to the bim-bam clocks, releasing catalogs full of them after Kienzle released the Potsdamer Gong. It was really nice to learn that Junghans opposed this idea. I don't remember if Junghans didn't partake in Nazi propaganda at all, or just in different ways.

@@theclockcollector7967 Yes... sniff, cry... I had to sell it to raise money to pay for plane tickets to go and visit my girlfriend when she was unwell and going through a bad patch. Now she and I are no longer together, I wish I'd kept it.

The chime of this clock is actually quite deep for the size, so that confusion is understandable paired with the phone mic. I've had a lot of friends who hear this one without seeing it ask if it's a grandfather clock! Then they see it and are surprised by how small it is compared to what they were thinking

@@DannysClocks, well... I think my method is not mathematical at all))) First of all - you do relax both mainsprings and all further tests you do manually by pushing wheels by fingers. This is safety requirment. Then I just do assmbling - trying - if not ok then I relax nuts (not diassembling movement totally) and shift last two wheels of strike system a bit and try again and so on. This is not fast way actually, but if You love clocks then You will like it)))) My time - 2-3 hours for ideal combination. If You would like You can find video with final work on my channel. I'm mostly covering my ass from KZfaq, because they are very strict against content referencing Nazis in any way. Plus, it's always possible people could twist the fact that I own a clock with this history and make it seem like I support it. :/ It's sad that people are so quick to assume things, but I know because I've seen it happen to other people before.
