Got these in grey for 300 on Black Friday, loving them and I don’t regret my decision. Their simplicity is amazing and sound quality is great and to me they look very sexy, anyways great review Z

I bought them right after the YU4 review. They have everything you could want on them, even Bluetooth. One of the best things I have bought. And just look at the design, I got the gloss white finish which looks absolutely great on any desk !

This review was absolutely fucking hysterical thank you for that. Probably the most honest review you'll get on the internet. I'll probably pick a pair of these up. My question is if you think they are still a good buy now that they've increased in price to around $400 or if I should be looking at others.

I have these. The bass boost actually boosts the upper bass/mids too and it makes them sound awful so I live it at default.

I've been wanting a pair of powered bookshelf speakers for my Sony 75" TV. Trying to avoid getting an Amp/Receiver. Mostly for TV/Movies. Would these fit the bill? Would you suggest something different?

@@neby_nebs They sound quite good, but I returned them because they're too big for frequent travel with my laptop. I exchanged for the YU4. The YU4 are easier to carry and still sound very good.

I got the YU6s based on the Kanto Yumi review when I moved out. I didn't expect me to go with powered speakers, but there are enough inputs for everything in the living room.

So now that there's $430, meh? Are the TUKs worth $800? Or just stick with the $600 vanatoo T1E?.I'm looking for a medium sized living room for music and TV, mainly music. I live in an apartment complex so I need them to sound good even at lower volumes.

Heads up Zeos Micca isn't producing their subs anymore. I got this info from Micca support. The reason had something to do with components getting to expensive to keep pricing down.

I have had these on my desk for a while now. They do have a little white noise when powered up up-close. Do you remember if the TUKs are quieter/louder when powered but not playing? Love em for their sound and their looks, might upgrade to a pair of TUKs somewhere down the road and find another nice place for these.

zeos, have you ever heard the Polk RTI A3's? I am a huge polk fan and would like to get your take on them. I run a7's up front and a3's as my surrounds. The A3's sound so good and they're only $240 a pair. I don't know if they can live up to your audiophile ears but I'm very happy with mine. Just curious how you would review them.

You need the matching sub-8 to test it as the complete 2.1 system. Just turn the lowpass down to 50hz tha match the speakers.

Are the Kanto YU6 Walnut cabinets actually walnut?? Why else would the raise the prices $70 for walnut?? I hope its not a vinyl skin or some shit.... it says on the website the bamboo versions are real solid bamboo but its doesn't specify about the walnut... Sigh.......

I know you like to do reviews on cheap small speakers that sound good. Just got four of the Mediabridge Bookshelf speakers MS-BP1B and would like to see you do a review on them. For the price I was very impressed. Love the channel by the way. Good reviews.

I'll definitely be looking at the stripped down "YU" model as a soundbar substitute along with a subwoofer. I'll be connecting via analogue anyway so I can use the TV's built-in virtual surround sound DSP and control the volume from the TV's remote. The Kanto remote and control interface is definitely lacking significantly. So won't need the extras of the YU4 and YU6.

i bought the Kanto TUK speakers thanks to Z hehe i also bought the Kanto Sub8 on black Friday sale for just only $200 with free shipping from Crutchfield, they have an subwoofer sale right now, also the Audioengine Sub is a great subwoofer too for the Vanatoo's, they were my first decision until I saw the TUK review, both are amazing you will be happy with the subwoofer paired to these amazingly crafted speakers, good luck

I like pretty and convenient speakers and I like 300/pair powered. I've been needing speakers for ages, I might as well just buy these and be done with it. I liked the vanatoo T1 though...

These are already powered and already have their dac. You don't connect them to an AVR, unless you can connect them through the pre-out of the amp into one of the optical/rca speaker inputs or something.. but then what's the point? better just use an normal unpowered speaker.

How do these compare to Fluance? I have the Fluance Ai40, but I'm returning them. At low volumes the speaker does strange things to the audio. The powered speaker makes a static noise when bass hits, even with bass at neutral setting.

Go with the Kanto YU6 all day long over the Klipsch........of course if you get into Tower speakers go with the Klipsch R-625FA Tower Speakers

Have you tested the fluance ai61 speakers they are the ported version of the ai60 with a minor bump in power I’m debating on these Kanto yu6 or the fluance ai61 and it’s driving me crazy

Same here! I don't understand why anybody compare them since they are literaly 2 almost identical speakers. I'm tempted to go with Fluance since they are less expensive, and Kanto seem to only are more expensive because of their sexy finish. Also Fluance Ai61 have bigger woofer.

Any other other suggestions of powered bluetooth speakers in this range? I really like that these have the phono preamp but it's not a must for me. Also where I am, they're around 420 usd :/

Should be on sale for xmas. I see $369 cdn right now. Not sure about recommendations maybe actual monitors but the issue there is then not having all the connect-ability options sort of maybe a apples to oranges at that point even though they are powered. These even have some slight EQ ability + the sub out.

It's an active speakers good enough to compete with mid-fi bookshelf speakers, I dun think it's an entry level speakers, as the sound/feature/finish is just fine and musical enough, of course you can get better sound via external DAC.

I have the smaller Kanto YU2 speakers paired with the Kanto down-firing subwoofer. I'm very happy with my simple computer 2.1 setup. I expect the same good audio quality from the YU6.

I tried connecting my Fire Tablet , IPad , and Samsung tablet with cable and they all sound better when using Bluetooth. Maybe that the Yamaha receiver does some magic with the Bluetooth

Yamaha has a algorithm for bluetooth for a decompressed sound. That and Aptx is the way to go for wireless barring wifi.....

I'm having a problem with my YU6s where it enters standby mode when connected via Bluetooth to an Echo and you don't play for awhile. There's a setting to disable standby when inactive for other inputs, but not for Bluetooth. :/ Did you not encounter this in your review?

Finally decided to go in on these. Been looking at them for over a year. Had wanted to drive to the nearest audio store that sells them but couldn't get out to LA before the shutdowns. Currently, there are 7 in Matte Black on Amazon for $339 and the prices seem to be going up on the others, so if anyone's thinking about it, now's a good time.

Yeah this is upsetting. I’ve been considering them and didn’t realize there is like a 50%+ price increase. He did say that if they were $400 he’d give a “meh” review. So I wonder what would be better in the $450ish price range?
