Zermatt liegt auf zirka 1600 m im Mattertal am Fuße des Matterhorns im Kanton Wallis und gehört mit zu den bekanntesten Ferienorten in der Schweiz.

My family was stationed with the DOD in Germany from 1959-1969 and every Christmas and some Easter vacations we spent in Zermatt skiing. Back then, wonderful horse-drawn sleighs would pick you up from the train station and take you to your hotel or chalet. Zermatt was smaller and more romantic then, but alas, they too must keep up with modernization. What you have shown me in this video is that Zermatt is still a beautiful place and definitely worth a visit. Thank you for this video.

This is without a doubt one of my favourite places in the world, and this video represents it beautifully. Zermatt is breathtakingly beautiful, peaceful, with lots of fresh air, nice hiking and skiing, and yet there was nothing we needed that we couldn't find there. Despite the remote setting, there is good mobile phone coverage and high speed internet. The fact that cars are banned is not a problem as everything is within walking distance and taxis are available if you're willing to pay. I do recommend visiting in winter though if you can handle the cold.

My favorite place in all of my life to visit and ski! What wonderful memories. Looking at the town now I can hardly recognize it. It has changed so much since the 60's, 70's and 80's..even my last visit in 2008 I hardly recognized it. Wonderful place.

Was there in November. It's as expected, so beautiful. Sadly in the snow the Matterhorn is often hidden but she often came out at night and it was quite something. She was snow covered so glowing white amongst the dark sky ♥️

No regular traffic allowed in Zermatt. Wise decision. I left the car parked at Täsch and took the train to Zermatt. Zermatt is a dream town. Beautiful, historic, friendly people, and of course the majestic view of the surrounding mountains specially the Matterhorn.

Switzerland and the French Alps are the most beautiful places I have ever visited. I most enjoyed Lucerne Swizerland and Annency France as places I would dream of living. I don't speak French so I guess I would have to pick Lucerne where they seem to speak English more. Thanks for sharing this video. From St. Louis

As a flatlander from Texas I am in awe of the mountains and the clean streets. No need to go to the mountain trails. Just walk around town! Herrlichen !
