Find out how much virtual production costs. From low budget options all the way to huge LED wall studios these are the real figures. I think virtual production can be done very effectively on a low budget but the costs can ramp up very quickly.

Dude thanks to you n progress in 3d gaussian, i m trying to make a good looking budget indie film .. but a lot of troubleshoot n workflow need to be done. I dont have access to jetset but you do. So here is a suggestion, take most mid- ambitious or complex scens of hollywood an redo it ( like media division is doing with the killer recreation) u learn a lot personally but also u n team troubleshoot entire thing n come up with great tools to solve those issue n time wasters or wait slugs while also making the scene top notch jn virtual prod. N e everyone wins, including studio adoption when the see output matching real world references.

Hi Joshua, I've been following what you've been doing for a while and first of all I'd like to thank you for your very inspiring videos. I'm into very similar things to you and currently my goal is to build a studio green screen setup with live preview capability. I've tried everything possible, I liked the Aximmetry Eye app very much. Totally accurate tracking with just a mobile phone without the need for any calibration, easy af. Unfortunately it is limited to the smartphone camera only, so not usable for pro use. Then we tried the retracker. And it was terribly complicated to set it up at all, so I gave up. I'm looking for something that would allow me to track with my phone so I can send the tracking data to UE and then live key via Ultimate for example. Is it possible to use your Lightcraft Jetset app for this? Or what do you think would be the best solution for me?

Hey filmmaker....lets talk! Man, I love your work. At one point, we were the only people doing virtual production with short throw projectors on KZfaq. Although I think your results were incredible. Im actually going to return to that method very soon. Yeah, Lightcraft actually does sound good for this. maybe drop me an email, and we can set up a call?

Hey joshua, really enjoying your Videos. We try to set up a similar solution at our university. Do you have a link for your rig setup for example the mount of the accsoon and the iphone ? Thanks for your help and keep up your great work 😊
@JoshuaMKerr
@JoshuaMKerr 8 күн бұрын
The rig is made up of a few key pieces. First, I have a camera cage for the S1H (this will vary from camera to camera) and has a series of mounting points. I then use smallrig rail and rail mounts to position the phone over the lens. The acsoon is attached using a smallrig coldshoe mount. There's no right way, just what you can make work. Get your hands on some smallrig bits and get creative. Its fun to see a rig come together

Have the phone and got the Seemo pro, now I found out I need a cooling fan, and a tentacle timecode tool. I phone cage-"Please link where you got the one you use", then it's mounting solutions and and and... so not cheap when adding up all the bits and bobs.

I’ve seen some “home made” LED walls made by mashing together small bezel TVs (usually set vertically) and then fudging the seams so it looks like a big picture window. I suppose it’s possible to blur the images or bring in foreground set pieces to hide seams for other backgrounds but it’s gonna be tricky and might look like crap in the end. Cost - a lot more than green screen and a lot less than a real wall…

Aximmetry is certainly something that needs a lot of patience and digging to get out of it what you want. Documentation has been spotty, but it's getting better however their lack of documenting so many items, or glossing over things that create issues, make it tough to do a whole shoot with it. Most of the youtube videos out there are 2-3 years old, however David Alexandre has done some great work on some of the advanced topics and Frustum Virtual has the best recent tutorials. Aximmetry finally created an ambassador position with them to help get their product some tutorials. Or you can give Aximmetry $5,000 for two training courses. It's a great program for the price point, however the lack of documentation hurts it badly.

@@Justin_Allen Thank you for the sources and for the future we hope things get better , for the 5000$ training courses it is not possible for some or lot of us i would say , that can not afford such prices , we chose the low budget entry level solutions for that reason , so we take what we can with this solutions , and Big up to @Joshua M Kerr for helping us with his videos , and we hope aximmetry team continues with updated documentation and ambassador program , rooting for Joshua to be our next ambassador ^^

Hello Hello, I'm one of the sources for the expensive stuff! Just to add a clarification that I thinks handy to know is the prices we chatted about was specifically to do with a 15m x 5m wall (a previous video of Josh's for scale kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mM-RZqllsMiwnHU.html) so the price can scale even more wildly than what's mentioned on here! We've done shoots with a budget of as little as $1000 a day up to $50,000 a day. This video is one of my favourites you've released! The ability to scale and to be able to use the same tools we've got in our studio for next to no cost is why I love VP!

Great video and thorough breakdown! I was surprised how much of a huge fan Coffeezilla is of Aximmetry's keyer, even over Ultimatte. He's also using Mo-sys, but just for camera position tracking to load later. It's a bit over the top - Jetset Cine would be a perfect solution for the use case he's doing for like 1% of the cost kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fNBxntCir6nGeo0.htmlsi=PVbRB3CgWQvRS-2u
@JoshuaMKerr
@JoshuaMKerr 4 күн бұрын
I was thinking exactly the same thing. Mosys is great, but I dont think the level of movement really warrants a system that complex. I've been thinking of doing a lightcraft based youtube vp setup. Should be fun but might need a live keyer like aximmetry. How are you anyway?

Oh good, another jetset commercial from you. I know of no one who uses this yet was mentioned 8 times in your video. You make good content, quit being a shill for a company that is useless for commercial virtual production work. Other than this the rest of the content in this video was a good primer for others.

To be fair. It's new so not surprised no one uses it. It;s also geared more for small indie films and hobbyist filmmakers based on the setup and gear, I feel that's the target audience for this system and it's the most affordable of all the systems. I mean, I'm doing VFX and Foley for a no budget film with some friends and this would be tottally within our budget since some of us have an Iphone handy (not me) ... not so much for the other systems. And he does mention many of their direct competitors. Also, I preffer him shilling for this instead of loot crate or better help or AFK Journey or Raid Shadow Legends or ... the man needs to make a living.

It is nice to be sponsored by a company like Lightcraft with the pedigree they have in film. I get to talk about something I use and believe in, educate, and entertain. Through Lightcraft, I've been able to meet people at the absolute peak of the film industry and make content that I feel is valuable for people while providing for my family. Im sure it's not for everyone, but yes, it is being used on commercial projects, and whether sponsored or not, I will also continue to use it myself. Thank for the support.

@@JoshuaMKerr but you don't mention competing companies' products. You mention only products that are mostly out of indie film-makers budgets, and make it sound like JetSet is the only option, when in fact it isn't. I'm talking about UE's own VCam app (free), for example.
