Your theory was widely used in New Zealand about 30 years ago when herds were smaller. The problem with taking the milking machine to the field is that you need lots of machinery (mainly tractors) to move the milking machine, the cooler tank, you can not feed while they are milking and everything end up being more complicated. It is easier to move the cows to the milking shed than the opposite.

over here in austria almost every farmer has a front mower and a normal forage wagon for mowing grass once a day

Grass is the cheapest fodder and grazing it by cows if the cheapest way to use it.

mostly normal grass from permanent grassland. Some also mow clover. (I have no idea if I translated that right)

I think this would fit in perfect if you had milking robots

I have zero experience and therefore zero authority on dairy cows but that just seems like an awful lot of wasted fuel and wasted time. I can understand doing this on certain occassions to alleviate compaction and avoid destroying the pasture, but I can't understand doing this everyday. The costs must be enourmous compared to bio-intensive mob grazing. If'n I had me some dairy cows I think I'd try to figure out a way to do something else with the land besides pasture and I'd fodder the milkers.
