I think this is a great concept for only buying what you need. One of my biggest frustrations is having to buy large packages of food that I can't use all of and have to throw away when it expires. Other countries have been doing this for centuries. You go to an old school market and only buy what you need.

We are in a n urban area (as you can hear!) and did the best we could with our resources. We hope the message still gets across. Most of our products are organic and local. It is important to us that products are made as sustainably as possible and that their carbon footprint is low, so those qualifications are important to us. Thanks for the questions!
@ancientfutures

Tare Market you can hook up a cell phone voice memo app and earphones with a mic to get local sound. Then edit it in. Don’t forget to give a clap to sync the audio to the video. Always ways to improve! I’ll ask again, what percent of product is organic? It’s good to know what people can expect:) good job on the video!

Or, you can eliminate the middleman(the stores), and order in bulk from the companies and farmers. This can lead to the spreading of germs when people are bringing in their own packaging.
@taremarket3768
@taremarket3768 4 жыл бұрын
Hello! We do follow all of the health code rules and regulations when it comes to cross-contamination, hygiene, etc., so we limit the germ exposure. We put lots of time into researching each product we carry- most people don't have the time or resources to research companies and farmers that will actually work with an individual (most will only work with companies or cooperatives).

@@taremarket3768 Hi, I am familiar with your type of store because we have them in the North-East as well. Though I commend you all on your efforts to reduce wastes, etc., my concerns are about the sterilization of the bags and containers that customers bring in. If a customer brings in a jar and fills it up with a grain, gets to the check-out and finds they cannot pay for the item...what does the store do with the grains? If they dump it back into the bin with the other grains then that can present the risk of cross-contamination and germ spreading.

I think this is a great idea, but seems a little pricey. Also, I noticed that the containers with the pumps on them are made of plastic, which is surprising to me. I don't want my organic, no waste condiments and things coming out of or being stored in plastic containers especially since I'm going to so much trouble to bring in my own glass containers to eliminate plastic waste. Otherwise, kudos for this wonderful start up to give people a real choice and way to reduce plastic and waste. I hope it catches on and comes to my area too. Good luck ladies!!
