Correction Chinese drama is more advance than korean dramas from a long time ago. Maybe you haven't watch a lot of chinese drama especially old cdrama. Most korean drama are originally story from chinese drama

I find a lot of Kdramas too conservative and less realistic than cdramas and almost always have the same formula (chaebol meets poor girl and falls in love, either one has a childhood trauma or they'd realise later on that they've met when they were kids) . Also, I know it doesn't matter that much but I find that Chinese actors and actresses vary in physical looks so it's more interesting for me to watch more Cdramas since the actors/actresses do not have the same "look".

No, Gu was a college classmate. FL was a top student, and Gu was also. She and Gu never had a romantic relationship at that time. In fact, she got married to a different man and the child is her husband's child. Her husband unfortunately is a jerk, just into himself, and he cheated on her, so she's either divorced or in the process of divorcing. Gu admired her when they were in college and feels disappointed that she quit her job to be a stay-at-home mom. He's clueless in that aspect. Great women who stay at home can be a huge blessing to their children. Stay-at-home moms deserve lots of credit. I'm not showing disrespect for the women who decide to pursue a career while they have children, but I don't appreciate the disrespect this FL is receiving for making the less popular choice of being with her child.
