Maybe it doesn’t have the dramatic antics of other fights, but this is intriguing. Normally Joyce just walks his opponents down, takes whatever they throw at him while breaking them down, that didn’t work the first time round. Interesting to see how he reacts to that.

A straight left up the alley is one of the hardest punches to not get hit with, what ever glove you use to block it would hit your face as you don’t have leverage, you can’t move your elbow up that too slow. You can’t duck it unless your unlock your knees to drop but you will fall too low off balanced. You could circle left away for that left and move your head but only if you’re slick and fast. Sane as moving your head back out of range but zang throw a very long straight left can’t go back unless you was Roy jones LOL he dead meat. LOL I think punching & holding might be joce plan. JJ doesn't need to be quick, he simply needs to keep his hands up, stay behind the jab, if you see a punch coming towards your face, at least try and evade it, for goodness sake!... sure he'll eat a few fists, always does, the important thing is to bring the "eating fists per round" ratio down by 15/20%... if he does this, I'm convinced he'll knock Zhang out in devastating fashion, K.O for big juggernaut, round 9

Feel bad for Joe and impressed with Zhang, but it was pretty clear who had the psychological edge and skill superiority from the beginning. I think Joe is just another perfect example of the sad case of when a fighter who has depended too heavily on his granite chin, heart, size and durability for the vast majority of his amateur and pro career finally runs into an opponent with the lethal combination of size, reach, power and skill to punch through all of that. It's not that Joe isn't a good boxer so much as it is that his gifts of resilience and durability allowed him to get away with boxing in a way that most others can't. He's notably very slow, very easy to hit and his reaction time just isn't there. As others noted, it looked like he was boxing underwater. It gets much harder, when you reach his age, to be as durable as you were in your younger prime years. So if you have a style that leans heavily on that durability to be able to eventually bully through, it'll be betray you as you age. Now some might argue, "Zhang is 40!" Yes, but he has a style that is highly dependent on offensive and defensive skill and amplifying power with technical superiority. He is a better technical boxer who simply has better fundamentals than Joe. That is something that will always carry you further in your later years simply because they are things that age more gracefully than one's durability, ability to take a punch and dynamic atheletic gifts.

Joe Joyce needs to hit hard and land from the start, get respect and early damage. Joe made the right choice gaining that extra weight, he looked to under sizes for the first fight which affected his ability to absorb the punishment. Joe needs to use the extra weight more wisely and land with big hits from the start, risk it from the start, hit hard then clinch and lean tiring Zhang down to make his legs heavy. Joe should do alright in the second fight and I predict a 10th round knockout victory for Joe Joyce

He is still going to eat those shots. The head movement isnt going to improve. He cant reskill and hes better leaning jnto his best assests. And that is punch resistance which the weight will help with . He was slower lighter in the last fight then he ever was with dubois for example.
